I'm officially "the default fonts on the new Wikipedia redesign are WAY too small" years old now
is this an online encyclopedia FOR ANTS?!
the new wikipedia design reminds me of every cool design blog in 2003, yeah rock that gray 9px gill sans/verdana
@mathowie Awww had to go check if k10k still exists. :(
@mathowie A significant amount of my job in the early 2000s consisted of asking designers to stop using tiny grey text, they all wanted to be doing cool print or motion graphics stuff and saw the web as nerdy & dreary
@mathowie It may not be able to read but those designs really did look good IMO.
@mathowie Matt, you absolutely must put a content warning when you’re dropping a K10k screenshot. You know we’re all of an age where that will induce LENGTHY WISTFUL STARING. Talk to your doctor if symptoms persist longer than 36 hours.
@dokas @mathowie I still can't believe they let me do an entry that had a pixelated Thom Yorke masturbating in the shower.

@mathowie k10k!

So many feels when I see this.

@mathowie Ah Gill… It’s a moral dilemma though. To separate the artist from the child abuser…
@mathowie doing some post-learnedleague-submission research, i see
@hannah I got zero today, so I figured I would do more research for the next time that film comes around (they ask a question about it every couple years)
@mathowie That font needs to be at least…3 points larger!
@mathowie They have the font at 0.875em, if they'd just leave it at 1em it's actually incredibly readable! We don't need to emulate physical encyclopedias with the tiny fonts 😩
@bramhill @mathowie I did determine setting the body to `1.142857142857143rem` (could probably drop a few digits there) resets everything back to baseline, if that helps. Easy-ish to do with the Stylus extension in Chrome and Firefox or whatever Arc is calling user stylesheets; in Safari you have to buy something like Cascadea to get the same capability.
@Meyerweb @mathowie Just added this with StopTheMadness, what a massive improvement 😍 Thank you!
@mathowie Learn to love "command +"
@fraying @mathowie Or user style sheets. I may write up a little snippet when I get back to my computer.
@Meyerweb I'm much too lazy for that. Also, I use Safari.
@fraying There is [Cascadea](https://cascadea.app/), but yeah, not ideal.
Cascadea - Remix the web.

Cascadea is a custom style extension built from the ground up for macOS and Safari.

Cascadea - Remix the web.
@Meyerweb Yeah back to that whole "lazy" thing...
@fraying @Meyerweb For some reason I thought it was easier in Safari? I use FF mostly and can never remember how to find the user stylesheet (that is not called "userStylesheet.css")
@fraying @mathowie I almost use this as much as cut and paste these days. Stupid March of time.
