I remember a local book from decades ago took this in a light-hearted manner - Farewell To Nova Scotia, it was called, and afterwards it had the province drifting into warmer Southern waters, with all the laughs from that.

It wasn't half bad for a local book as I recall.

@adwright I didn't read it, but I believe I've seen it. Back in the 80s, they realized Sailors needed books at sea.. we always had a library but it was more what people left laying around until a budget was created to buy more books for trips and such. Someone bought a lot of local books and things of interest

I think I've still got a copy in my unsorted boxes of books but it'd be a Herculean effort to try and find it.

Halifax Public Libraries doesn't have it but Dal does.
