shout out to everyone else who also has to say "never eat shredded wheat" to themselves to remember what way is west

@WoozleWuzzle My first station in the Navy we had a mainframe server that had to be shut down and powered on with a specific button sequence that were labeled with letters spelling out:

A-LL
S-AILORS
L-OVE
T-O
E-AT
P-IZZA

You are not crazy πŸ˜ƒ !

@WoozleWuzzle I don't have to say the mnemonic but I do have to mentally picture a compass rose pointing in a known direction.
@WoozleWuzzle I swap east and west in my head often. I blame growing up near the east coast of the US and then moving to the west coast.
@WoozleWuzzle you're not alone. I use the German version "nie ohne Seife waschen" (never wash without soup) for Norden, Osten, SΓΌden, Westen
@alinanorakari @WoozleWuzzle That, in english, it becomes "north west west south" tickles me :D
@diffractie @WoozleWuzzle I just noticed I made a typo, it's of course soap, not soup
@alinanorakari @WoozleWuzzle I don't know why I didn't question that at all.
@alinanorakari @WoozleWuzzle Just a nice bowl of soup in the shower.
@WoozleWuzzle I have always remembered it by thinking about a compass rose and remembering it has the word "we" on it.
@WoozleWuzzle here in Aotearoa New Zealand, it's "Never Eat Soggy Weetbix" πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚
@WoozleWuzzle
Never eat soggy waffles is what I've heard
@WoozleWuzzle we used that when the parents were around. when the parents weren't around it became "never ever smoke weed".
@WoozleWuzzle I replaced it with a mental map of London and remembering β€œi live in East London, so the East Coast must be on the right” πŸ˜…
@WoozleWuzzle I always heard "never eat soggy waffles".
@WoozleWuzzle That needed some processing to figure out you're not allergic.
@WoozleWuzzle 'never eat soggy Wheaties'
@WoozleWuzzle @stavvers In Welsh you just have to learn them: Gogledd Dwyrain De Gorllewin.

@WoozleWuzzle I say that but not in relation to cardinal directions.

God damn wheat. *shakes fist and narrows eyes at field*

@WoozleWuzzle I still have to whisper to myself "righty tighty, lefty loosey" every time I grab the screwdriver.
