narrator: and what happened next surprised no one
@UncleDuke1969 no surprise, it’s true, but the jump scare was amazing
@UncleDuke1969 I once, very long ago, wrote a (very unnoteworthy and spectacularly unsuccessful) science fiction story roughly on this theme. After that, I stuck to other genres and nonfiction. 😂

What could possibly go wrong?
@UncleDuke1969 I saw that movie... 😂

@pzmyers - I think we may have found your summer vacation destination.

Do you want Spidermen? Because that's how you get Spidermen!

@UncleDuke1969 these decade-old memes smell terrible

@UncleDuke1969 so disappointed to find out this is a photoshopped photo ☹️

Calm down, they haven't really built a nuclear power plant next to a spider farm

Are we all about to be nibbled to death by giant radioactive spiders? (SPOILERS: NO)

@UncleDuke1969 I read this with Keith Morrison's voice
@UncleDuke1969 @cstross only one note: you should have changed your name to ‘Uncle Ben’ to post this.
@UncleDuke1969 a spider farm sounds interesting. Having worked in an office between a spacecraft manufacturing facility, a particle accelerator, and an experimental nuclear reactor, I've seen very few people with super powers. It's terribly disappointing.
@UncleDuke1969
Conservatives: "Nobody could've seen this coming!"
@UncleDuke1969 I see your nuclear spiders and I raise you nuclear crocodiles (I remembered passing this sign, so went digging for it on the map)

@UncleDuke1969

I believe this was a 1950s scifi film...
