Regretfully, the petition to remove #LGBT content from the #UK curriculum has 197,100 signatures.
The counter petition asking for that content to remain, is rapidly gaining ground. It now has 78,919 signatures!
Pls sign the counter petition if able. British citizens & UK residents have the right to sign. Pls boost otherwise!

@KittenInACave I'm going to be *that* guy, but personally I'm not in favour of the counter petition.
If authority (media, politicians etc.) are really going full-blown anti-LGBTQ+ for the normie distraction they need, I want to know who will defend the original petition and hear them say it and why.
With the counter's existence, they will just "both sides" it to weasel out of stating their *true* position, then go back to covertly continuing their weaponising of us against us regardless.
To be honest I feel like they will "both sides" it either way, but I hear your point. It adds credence to that *always* bullshit defense.

But the original didn't start in a vacuum - it was created by the ruling class, media and politics as a distraction from the enforced hierarchies and systems in place collapsing.
Not only is it working for that on the 'unaffected' masses, it's resonating and moving them further Right and deeper into those failing systems.
@optimal They tried it with 'CRT' too, but that failed as it was such an obvious lie, and now only the deepest recesses of the British Right still talk about it. So they went back to the American Right's playbook and found a smaller niche community to weaponise.
Even after the petitions are copy/pasted replied to by the Tories, and the 'debate' happens, they will just go straight back on continuing this anti-LGBTQ+ propaganda crusade because it works on normies.

Once the distraction works, they are safe to keep enriching themselves unaffected, even as they're fucking over even the 'safe' white, cishet masses.
Because we're all fighting each other and getting less and less, as the masses are 'secure' in conservatism, its hierarchies and capitalism despite them ruining their lives and future.
Until that is changed, the ruling class will keep up moral panics, and us dumb normies will eat it up and become ever more right-wing reactionaries.

Look at the map of signatories for the removal petition. Looks suspiciously like the same hotspots. Thos protests didn’t work so now trying a different route to play the system.
@del @KittenInACave I did notice that, and I think the fact it is being done so mysteriously is pretty interesting. There was hardly any evidence of its existence on a certain social media app, so how exactly is it being promoted to grow so quickly? Is it botted by a group, or is it in more niche areas of the internet?
And that goes before the complete silence from even the 'LGBTQ+ supporting' "left-wing rags" that the petition even exists. It's as if it's being shielded.

The holes option would be my guess after various moves they've made over the last few years.
Like how they banned graded exercise therapy for M.E/cfs patients because it's deeply harmful... But added wording in the document for if doctors believe it is the right treatment for their SPECIFIC patient, then it's permissable. So, how is that banning it? 🤷🏻♀️

@kat @KittenInACave Just a theory and in no way intended to be anti-Islam* but the hot spots seem to correlate with cities with a high proportion of Muslims. But possibly also a high proportion of evangelical Christians, Catholics etc.
