Maybe the CAs don't sound all the bloody same?
The central strip of 5 cells is used to trigger the analogue drums of a Korg Volca Beats. Taken as a binary value, they also play notes on a Volca Keys, set to unison ring-mod. The "histories" of the cells, or the columns treated as binary values, are used to trigger control changes; de-tune, filter cut-off, LFO rate etc... Shoved naively through a Bastl "Dude" mixer, cheaply recorded on a Korg KaosPad 2 with gratuitous Phaser Delay.
