Looking for a new job, or want to hire someone? Sick of the toxic culture on LinkedIn and other job boards? Want an alternative that integrates with Mastodon?

It's time to check out Flockingbird!

How it works is that Flockingbird (@flockingbird ) scans the Fediverse for posts with job-related posts (such as "jobs", "getfedihired", "vacancy", etc.)

Those job posts are then searchable on the Flockingbird website ( https://search.flockingbird.social/ ).

It's definitely worth checking out!

Hi, is there some way to prevent my profile to become part of that search index?

Good question. On the Flockingbird site, it mentions that: "But be sure that your account allows indexing by bots. We respect those settings and won't index a vacancy if your account does not allow it."

So I *think* the setting you want in Mastodon is Preferences -> Other -> Opt out of search engine indexing, but I'm not 100% sure on that.

(Please note I'm not involved with Flockingbird, I just found it, thought it might be useful to some people, and shared it in a post.)

@ajsadauskas @jesuisatire this is correct.

In pleroma, akka, or other fediverse software, this setting may be called different, or may be absent. We pull in the authors profile to double-check this.
