Just to be clear, when the New York Times reported that the FBI saw “no link between Trump and Russia” — a week before the 2016 election — the FBI agent who was just arrested over ties to Russian oligarch Oleg Deripaska was heading up the investigation.

Just an absolute scandal.

@SrRochardBunson this is terrifying. How deep into our government does Putin's spy machine go?

@dpscifi

It is terrifying, but probably not as deep as it was ~5 years ago.

Putin WAS in world conquering mode. Now he's just trying to hide from #Ukrainian missles.

@SrRochardBunson @dpscifi Russians just helped elect George Santos!
@Agora @SrRochardBunson @dpscifi a few years ago they had to remove the top floors of an entire building in order to correct how compromised we had become.
@SrRochardBunson The right wing of the Supreme Court are the GULITY parties too. They went all in on outside money in US politics. End of story.

@GeoffWilbourn

Absolutely #SCOTUS is conpromised.

@SrRochardBunson and now, we have Santos in Congress! Paid for by Russians. FFS🤬🤬
@SrRochardBunson Wow! That certainly IS a total scandal!!!

@SrRochardBunson Thorough & impartial investigative journalism including interviews of multiple sources familiar with the matter doesn't seem to have been a favorite of NYT in that case.
NYT's nostalgic gratitude for a full-page ad by Trump attacking America's allies, shortly after he came back from his July 4, 1987 visit to Moscow, having been invited by Kremlin diplomats & the KGB?

@SrRochardBunson Let's not leave out dunking on the NYT.

@SrRochardBunson The indictment was unsealed today, and it’s extraordinary.

Bottom line: MCGONIGAL & SHESTAKOV are each charged with “one count of conspiring to violate and evade U.S. sanctions, in violation of the IEEPA, one count of violating the IEEPA, one count of conspiring to commit money laundering, and one count of money laundering, each of which carries a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison.”

@SrRochardBunson
And very interesting that none of the reporting I’ve read about McGonigal’s arrest makes this connection.
@SrRochardBunson it was obviously bullshit. on my own, i googled and learned trump had ties with russia, and a business partner indicted for russian money laundering, way before he even ran. and i’m just a gal with a journalism degree. not a reporter. only resources are an internet connection, time, and curiosity. sheesh.

@iquanyin @SrRochardBunson

The reality of Trump and his connections to Russia were commented on by Don Junior (dumb) in 2008, and Eric (dumber) in 2014… you know, we get all the money we need from Russia

Don’t forget DJT first came to attention in the 70s when done for racial discrimination in housing. His lawyer in those years was Roy Cohn, a notorious skidmark.

@SrRochardBunson

I wonder how much evidence there was in that investigation that hasn't been seen by a single other person...

@SrRochardBunson so much for the Fourth Estate...

@SrRochardBunson

Why the HELL do all the maga websites have more informative headlines on this story than the soporific that the so-called liberal media can muster up?

@SrRochardBunson this had better be tightening the noose and lining up the case #Trumpthetraitor
@SrRochardBunson @DebMacP I wonder if getting rid of spies is 1 reason #DOJ is taking so long.
@marcibadwolf303 @SrRochardBunson @DebMacP I think the trumpytrumps lingering in DOJ is the reason the J6 Committee was reluctant to share their work with DOJ.
@HarryCallahan @marcibadwolf303 @SrRochardBunson or Jim Jordan being able to ask what evidence they have against him
@SrRochardBunson @DebMacP 🤞🏼 not sure whether I hope that’s it or not. Either alternative is terrifying

@SrRochardBunson don’t forget about the report that was quickly swept under the rug that Trump claimed proved there was “no collusion.”

This keeps rolling on & on ad nausea and after 2 YEARS, Trump is STILL NOT IN PRISON.
My money is on him NEVER going to prison. Any takers?
He'll die first, of some malady he's had since before he ran for office the 1st time...
Let's all face it.
He's NEVER going to prison!
This is a long running Dark soap opera for daytime TV.
Maybe someone should set up an investment fund that bets he never serves 1 minute of time in prison?

@ahumanbeinz @david @SrRochardBunson Watergate was far less complicated and took over 900 days to produce a conviction.

@raballentine @ahumanbeinz @SrRochardBunson the trial started less than 6 months later.

https://www.pbs.org/newshour/politics/complete-watergate-timeline-took-longer-realize

Conflating the time to conviction with the time to initial prosecution is being disingenuous.

Not even having an arrest and any charges brought is a major injustice against the American people.

If you did with Trump did, do you think you’d still be walking free?

The complete Watergate timeline (it took longer than you realize)

Critics have been quick to compare the controversy surrounding the White House and Russia to the Watergate scandal that forced President Richard Nixon to resign. But the Watergate drama took longer to unfold -- more than two years -- than many people may remember. Here’s a quick refresher of the events that led to Nixon’s resignation.

PBS News
@raballentine @david @SrRochardBunson Technically, Nixon resigned before the Senate could "convict" him.
The false notion that he was impeached & convicted still lingers thruout the US public's narrative.
Yes it took 900 days 2 get 2 a point where the House *would've* sent impeachment articles 2 the Senate. But they didn't get the chance because Nixon resigned.
It's a small peeve of mine, & I regret correcting anyone. But false narratives tend 2 become "true" over time.😐https://www.historyonthenet.com/was-richard-nixon-impeached

Richard Nixon was never impeached, not because there were no impeachment proceedings against him, but because he resigned the presidency at the

So, it's Krumps entire election that was fraudulent.

@SrRochardBunson sorry for asking, but could you please CW us politics posts? Especially if they're related to Trump / Putin?

I'm suddenly getting PTSD flashbacks from 2018.

@SrRochardBunson I’m sure the new “Weaponization of the Federal Government” committee will be sure they to the bottom of this. Right? 🤦‍♀️
@SrRochardBunson Just think about what else we still don’t know… yet.
@SrRochardBunson why have the legitimate news outlets not picked up on this?
#MSNBC and #CNN are positioning this story as a "maybe we shouldn't trust the #FBI" angle which is clearly missing the point!
@CharmingMalcontent @SrRochardBunson depends on where the editorial salaries are being paid from.
@SrRochardBunson Who selected Charles McConigal for his role in the FBI?
@SrRochardBunson
Maybe we can !FINALLY! get an investigation into FBI's rogue New York Office.
