I think the author just isn’t a very good writer.
The protagonist got an electric schock because of static discharge, and then a cramp:
»He cried out in silent agony for approximately six hundred seconds.«
So he is standing there for nine to eleven minutes? And Bibliotheca just waits there, altho she was leaving? »Approximately« doesn’t mean »what felt like«.

That the version i hav has some terrible keming isn’t helping, either.
Tons of sheds and heds with some accent between the e and d.
There is too much space, apostrofs tearing holes into yur text, but there is definitely too little space, too, and tons of it here.

Btw, the »upload one image and we tell yu the font« pages like What The Font work reasonably well.
Minion. That is Minion, but badly kernd.

The other way, identifont, seem more precise, but for this font especially several font shapes were borderline. How many degrees of slant in the uprights of the »M« ar allowd for it to count as upright? 0.5°? They ar the tiniest bit no parallel.

Dto. »Q«: Does the tail cross the circle? For Minion, yes, the tiniest sliver is on the inside. Does that count for identifont? I don’t know!

Identifont - Identify fonts by appearance, find fonts by name

Identify fonts by appearance, find fonts by name, find picture or symbol fonts, find fonts by designer or publisher.

Uh, and for the version of Minion for sale at Linotype, that one does not show the »Th« ligature that clearly is in the book. Maybe they thought only the f- ligatures were needed for a sale.

Btw, Compose Key to the rescue.
Btw btw
ich musste & konnte die Benutzersequenzen erweitern.
Jetzt geht »⎄« Tippen ohne cut-and-paste.
Are Th ligatures used in German typesetting?

I am new to the graphics design part of SE, my home is TeX, hence I hope this is the right place to ask this: Are Th ligatures used in the German language for typesetting? I am right now in the pr...

Minion 3 – (re-)enable Th-ligature without using dlig?

Hey there. First off, I'm very happy about the rework around Minion which saved me from choosing another font for a book project containing glyphs not included in Minion Pro. Unfortunately Minion 3 also moves the Th-ligature from the standard liga to discretionary dlig. I know this is controversia...

Adobe.
Adobe hat das bei Minion-registered-trademark so gemacht. Oder Robert Slimbach.
