So. Hmm.
This volume doesn’t actually say »1« as in Volume 1 on the title.
Like that the original end (i presume) the end of Chapter 4, would make perfect sense.
But maybe the author was forst into adding the epilog (»Final Chapter«).
And that: So, did he lose his memory? If so, do we get a retcon to enable Volume 2?
Just, no. Didn’t like that at all.

OK, so it’s not quite as bad as i thought.
Especially as some of the bits were i thought »that doesn’t work that way« … don’t work that way.
That was subterfuge by the author. Some people having been lied to and those lies becoming almost, but not quite, the authorial reality.

I still don’t like it as a literary stile. How should i know what bits ar wold building and which bits 🐃💩 in universe?

Rabbi: »What would you do, if somebody was bleeding during Shabos?«
Student: »I’ll have to look that up in the Shulchan Aruch«
R: »Wrong. He just bled to death.«

Yeah, i said i would cut him some slack, but i was reminded of this joke.

So Kamijou find Index »collapsed in a pool of blood«, still alive, but still bleeding.

»The habit shed been wearing, the Walking Church, certainly had reacted to his right hand«

Two pages later

»Her habit, the Walking Church, had reacted to his (right hand), so not everything shed said was a complete delusion, but...«

That’s one way to fill the pages. Not onlydescribe every tiny movement everybody makes, but recap everything a few pages later, and then recap it a second time.

OK, i will blame this one on the translator
»like a member of the ›elite squadron of foreigners,‹«
Member of the Foreign Legion, or of the French Foreign Legion or Légion étrangère.

»The culture of the cross had never been particularly thick (in Japan)«

I wonder if there is a reason for that.

Oh. Oh, dear. Yeah, there was some nasty persecution.

I think the author just isn’t a very good writer.
The protagonist got an electric schock because of static discharge, and then a cramp:
»He cried out in silent agony for approximately six hundred seconds.«
So he is standing there for nine to eleven minutes? And Bibliotheca just waits there, altho she was leaving? »Approximately« doesn’t mean »what felt like«.

So we get a wardrobe malfunction sene, but i don’t understand how it is supposed to work.
So the stitching on Bibliotheca’s (Index’s) clothes anti-magically fails, and the pieces fall off.
Sure enuf, fan service.

But »She (…) placed her hands on her hips«
Shouldn’t she hav pind some parts to her body with her hands?

»›I carry 103,000 grimoires.‹«
Kamachi-san, yu do know the difference between an index and a library, yes?
So the deuteragonist is cald Index Librorum Prohibitorum, because she has these books somehow embedded in her brain. The books themselves, not just the titles.
So why not call her Bibliotheca Grimorica Londinia or something?
