Been reading about #13thage #ttrpg

I love the idea of the escalation die and just making your background be whatever the hell you want.

Game mechanics serving to open up role playing experiences are so good.

@Never the One Unique Thing mechanic is fabulous and my players’ OUTs influenced the entire campaign I ran. (Based on the Eyes of the Stone Thief book - which I whole heartedly recommend) #13thage

@Never so much in #13thAge does exactly what it’s supposed to.

The escalation die and how healing works (players have it, monsters don’t) have left my teenager group with the constant belief they are going to die in at level encounters but they never do - though it has gotten really close.

@Never 13th Age is my favourite F20 system. The escalation die and OUT are nice innovations (and can easily be ported to any other equivalent system) but actually I think the main thing it gets right is the DM only needs to track 4 numbers for monsters and all special abilities trigger from the attack role. This makes it very easy to run so you can focus on offering a more descriptive and fast moving combat
@Never wanted to add if you’re still looking at it, 13th Age has solid support on Roll20. Their character sheet there is clean, stylish, and easily customizable to each characters special abilities.
