It’s odd. I’ve always known how bad the official apps are for browsing the bird site but after being FORCED to use them it just becomes utterly inescapable. They are a user experience nightmare wrapped up in a confusing mass of bad design choices. Add to that Space Karen is now constantly changing the UI for the worse and it’s an epic fail for the ages.
@gedeonm “Space Karen”, I’ve never heard that before, love it 😂
@gedeonm is Space Karen in a sleeping bag?
@gedeonm 🙏🏻 Please please please just use ‘Elon’ and ‘Twitter’ so people’s filters work
@CallMeAl I put it behind a CW so it wouldn’t have to be read, but point taken. Thx.
@gedeonm Even with Twitterrific, I haven’t used the main feed for more than 10 years, relying on my carefully curated lists. At the very least I am still getting chronological feeds with lists on the official app, but with the huge loss of no means of saving my place.
@gedeonm For people new to the bird site the official app/website is probably “ok”. But for us, who have seen the light, they are nothing but a path to the dark side.
@gedeonm It's terrible over there with you guys now.
@gedeonm so true and the huge loss of not being able to use lists in the official app
@gedeonm Twitter is truly an awful experience without Twitterrific.
@gedeonm If they don’t care about people, why people should be interested in them? That will be a payback. #Twitter #Elon

@gedeonm dude, for real. My actual Twitter TL now is MAYBE 10% promoted tweets, 20% “suggested topics”, 60% “<follower> follows, liked, or replied to this tweet you’re not interested in”, and 10% actual tweets from accounts I follow.

It’s worse than instagram.

@jgeorge Yeah and that’s saying something cause Instagram is pretty damned bad.
@gedeonm I stand corrected. Right now, my timeline is ZERO% tweets from accounts I follow. It’s 80% ‘you might like’ and 20% ‘<account> liked, retweeted, replied to”. Every item in my TL is an engagement attempt, zero content from my follows. Why are we not raging against this? Everyone hates this but there’s do little actual feedback? Are we just giving up?
@jgeorge I think because there’s no one left at Twitter who gives the slightest f*ck. All the people who cared about making Twitter a better overall user experience, making it a well designed and safe place for the thoughtful exchange of ideas were fired. The only person left there is focused on one thing and one thing alone: profitability. Until he’s replaced there’s no hope.
