Thing is, people often know their opinion isn’t popular. So they have to use other tactics, like harassment.

But I think it actually obscurs a very important thing: they aren’t weird nerds defending Elon. They are just people that deeply want the idea of the meritocracy in society to be real. They are defending their worldview.

Dave Spector@mattiem oddly, if we lived in an actual meritocracy, Elon would be at the bottom of the list. Nothing he has “accomplished” has been based on his own “merit.” Literally nothing.

But I think he is so incredibly terrible and that’s enough for me. I refuse to accept a society that looks at this kind of behavior and says “yes, this is what we should all strive towards”
