I had to go back and check when it was Greta Thunberg said, "Our house is on fire" because my mind suddenly made a connection between that statement and this comic. It was 2019 but it feels like it just as well could have been 10 years ago now.
The comic wasn't about climate change. It was deliberately vague. But hoo boy, does it strike a cord.

A few years ago the company I worked for was acquired and the new company didn't quite know how to utilize my department. For months we just billed our time to admin doing almost no work. As I sat in the office watching youtube videos I #crossstitch -ed this meme.
We never did get let go. They did start figuring out how to sell out department to customers and we are fine, but for a time this is how it felt.
