@elk It would be great to have it compatible with #Pleroma / #Akkoma too! Apparently they use the Mastodon API, so it should be possible.
@fell get involved! There are several folks working on supporting both Pleroma and Akkoma in Elk.
@elk @fell and #gotosocial support would be awesome. Elk worked briefly with gts at around v0.2.0 but doesn't work now
@moderation @elk Looks like it's all in the works. #gotosocial is very interesting to me too, I might try it out soon.
@fell @elk #elk 0.4.1 is now working with #gotosocial. Woohoo

@elk I'm excited to try it!

There seems to be some issues with it on my (admittedly outdated) version of Safari on Mac.

Works just fine in Chrome.

Looks lovely! Is adding custom link [title](url) with markdown in the roadmap? 🙂
@elk is the code available now?
@bp yes, the repo is now open at https://github.com/elk-zone/elk

@elk Congrats folks, I've been loving it

@elk

Love it already!

First of all, it feels less cluttered (although still WAY too many icons in that bar)

Second of all, it feels massively faster.

Thirdly, threading is way clearer than official #Mastodon or alternatives. And going back-forward is FINALLY respectful to scroll position.

That scrolling handling makes such difference to the UX feel. Sanity amongst the madness!

@elk
Absolutely stunning UX! Lightening fast, beautiful, and intuitive! And so early! GREAT job, all!
@elk Hello, I really like the feel of app! Do you have other color schemes and increased font sizes planned? Currently in dark mode w extra large font, but it is too dark and small of font to look at for very long. I love autoplay videos and the images are gorgeous!
@CMDoran @elk there is only the two color schemes atm but there is a font size adjustment in the settings
@liaizon the "largest font" is too small.
@CMDoran @patak shall I open an issue for this?
@liaizon @patak for reference I like 140 on Fedilab (and I can go larger there). Their 140 is nearly 2x your largest size.
@elk congrats! Loving this and where it's going!
@elk congrats guys - awesome mastodon client all round!
@elk The app looks great! I'm sure a lot of work went into grouping tweets into conversations, but... is there a way to turn that off? Just show a reverse-chronological view of the posts? I'm sure you've already got lots of features you still want to implement but I just want to turn this one off.
@OpinionatedGeek interesting, this is the first time we have a request for a preference to revert back to the original order. You should create a feature request, I think it makes sense to make this optional.
@elk Heh, maybe it's just me then.
@elk Elk is the best web client I've seen for mastodon since joining.
@elk

The thing I like most about the two minutes I've spent playing with Elk so far is that it has good threading, which Fediverse apps seem to be constitutionally opposed to implementing.

I might have to deploy my own instance to play with!

@[email protected] @elk

I see it's very "mastodon only, dummy" :D I tried to log into my Pleroma and Friendica instances and it was like "no, man."

Keep up the good work!

@stwhite @elk

Y'all are KILLIN it. Less than 24 hours later I can log into my pleroma account. Awesome sauce!
@elk Really like this so far. Honestly I'd be using it right now as my go to web app if it had support for lists. unfortunately lists are a deal breaker for me.
@elk I discovered https://elk.zone few minutes ago and I very love it !!! congratulations, this is really a great web client.

@elk

This is beautiful! Highly recommended!!

@elk 刚刚搞了一个ios桌面版 还挺好用
@elk Congrats! I would love to be able to modify which shortcuts that are displayed in the bottom on mobile. An option to display follow status on profiles without hovering or visiting their profile page would also be greatly desired. Keep up the good work!
@elk So far I'm really enjoying using Elk, and one thing I particularly like is that using the back button on my browser takes me right back to where I'd been. I'd been using Pinafore before, and the back button on that would only take me back to an approximate position, so this is a great improvement for me.
@elk It looks and feels fantastic, on the desktop and on mobile. The only thing that’s stopping me switching immediately is that the “post language” picker seems to default back to English (or maybe whatever interface language you have selected) after every toot, even in replies to my own toots. I mostly post in Welsh, and that’s my default language on my server preferences.
I usually use Metatext on iOS, which doesn’t even have a language tag picker afaik, but does pick up the default language setting, or inherits the language tag of any toot I reply to, so I only have to switch apps if I want to post in English.
(Early days though, obvs. Good luck with it!)
@elk Really like the "Wellness" options.
@elk Congratulations!
