Just finished season one of Andor -- it was like a political drama set in the Star Wars universe. HIGHLY recommend it! Can't wait for season 2. Anyone else check it out yet? What did you watch after you finished it?
@racheltobac I haven't found its match, but if you haven't watched only murders in the building, I highly recommend season one and mostly recommend season two 😂
@JadeintheNorth Ha that show was super fun! Loved the little twists and turns focused on the end of each episode!
@racheltobac Been liking it :). Haven't finished yet! Just finished Wednesday on Netflix. I was REALLY liking it but.. the later episodes I feel aren't as good, and many of the characters chemistry just feels off? Not sure if I have the words yet for it... but still enjoyed it. Some other ones that were interesting: Altered Carbon (Netflix), "Man in the High Castle" (Prime). Probably quite a few more could list!
@racheltobac It is the back story to ‘Rogue One” if you haven’t seen that.

@racheltobac I watched it as it came out, and it has so many political cues from our own wars that carry some heaviness, particularly the realizations in Ep 9. War is political, and this hits the right time of not being all about trade agreements and blockades.

After this? Just random stuff. The story in Jedi Fallen Order (game) is pretty good. Otherwise I may pivot to second season of Avenue 5: think Titanic in space with Dr. House as the captain.

@racheltobac try Star Wars: Visions if you want to stay in the SW universe.
@racheltobac I haven’t watched it yet, but that description sounds intriguing!
@racheltobac
We're doing the 2nd season of Bad Batch now, plus Wednesday. There's also a fairly new series of 6 or 8 animated star wars shorts, we're halfway done that.
@racheltobac I finished it a couple of weeks ago. Enjoyed it quite a bit.
I have watched a few things since in a variety of genres and I enjoyed all of them:
- From
- Yellowstone (latest season)
- Foundation (haven't read the books so not comparing it to them)
- His Dark Materials (latest and final season)
- Mythic Quest (latest season
- Quantum Leap (the new one, not the old one 😂)
@racheltobac I can't remember what I watched after Andor, but I'm excited to start the second season of Slow Horses, which I just learned existed. I loved the first season.
@racheltobac loved Andor - not sure if you have watched #TheExpanse - but it is super awesome!
@cloudygeek just finished it, one of my fave shows ever is The Expanse!!
@racheltobac Andor was fantastic! Wednesday was also highly entertaining.
@racheltobac I do like the political / espionage elements of the show. It also highlights that even the "good guys" may do horrible things for their cause.
@racheltobac Mythic Quest and Bad Sisters are good choices. Or as we call the latter show in my home: ”Angry Irish Murder Women”.
@racheltobac show recs part 1: Counterpart - underrated alternate world sci fi w/political intrigue.
Slow Horses - brilliant British spy craft
Reservation Dogs - only show I know of with native cast and writers. Backed by Taika Waititi. If you like your humor TW style What We Do in the Shadows - old world vampires living in modern Staten Island
For all Mankind - the world if the Soviets got to the moon first.
@racheltobac show recs part 2: Resident Alien - SyFy comedy of a stranded alien working as a small town doctor.
Central Park on Apple TV is full of such joy.
Irish Comedies - Derry Girls and Moon Boy both regularly make me laugh out loud, as did Flight of the Concords.
@racheltobac I watched the first episode last week, and I really liked it. Hoping to find sometime to catch-up on the rest.
@racheltobac Haven't watched Andor yet. Recently binged The Recruit, which was a bit cheesy with a decent story. Also binged season 1 of Slow Horses, which. Is. Fan. Tast. Ic.
@racheltobac after Andor, I picked up The Peripheral on Amazon Prime. The plot differs considerably from the book by William Gibson, although the adaptation is pretty decent. I also liked the book, and I'm most of the way through it's sequel, Agency.

@racheltobac
At the moment i am watching "alice in borderland".

Concerning "andor", at the beginning it was a bit, i don't know, not the typical star wars series, had to get used to it. although it is a good sci-fi / political drama show.

@racheltobac I watched a ton of YouTube about Andor 😄 Especially “Andor: Anti-f*scist art” by Just Write
@racheltobac just finishing off S2 of The Mandalorian so that's the next one off the rank.

@racheltobac I think Andor was the best series of 2022 and plan to completely re-watch it in the very near future!

Brilliant, brilliant monologues/soliloquies. "I've made my mind a sunless space. I share my dreams with ghosts."

And Andy Serkis as Kino Loy was so amazing. It was apparently his idea to deliver his last line with a sense resignation, rather than anger. A truly inspired choice.

The second season can't come soon enough :-)
