@antifaintl I am of the mind that fascist parties should also be banned from politics. We've already done this 😭 when will we learn that their opinions are not fair or wanted

@smollestbunny @antifaintl

as soon as people stop falling for a common misinterpretation of the paradox of tolerance.

rule of the club is don’t be an intolerant jackhole.

punishment is you aren’t part of the club anymore.

and if you join the club then get kicked you don’t get to complain because you knew the one rule and you knew the punishment for breaking it and you broke it anyways.

@antifaintl Great photo. People need to remember that Antifa means “anti-fascists” and we fought a war to end fascism. If we have to do it again, we can do that. We have experience.
@antifaintl The cropped image looks like it says "fascists have no right to organs", which I also agree with
@ApNudd @antifaintl They’ve already donated their 🧠 🫁🫀to their “cause” …
@antifaintl fascists have every right, as have left-wingers. It's called democracy.
@[email protected] @antifaintl perhaps this will help you understand why this is incorrect
@Marja @antifaintl no, they have no right to use democracy in order to destroy it. The ideology itself is evil. To say it is valid in any way is to say mass murder is simply an alternative lifestyle.
@Kathleen @antifaintl You ignore the simple fact that democracy is for everyone. You cannot deny this right to people who don't think like you. Or you don't understand the concept of democracy.
@Marja You ignore the paradox of tolerance.
@Marja @Kathleen @antifaintl "oh no who will protect the civil rights of the poor oppressed nazis "

@changeling @Kathleen @antifaintl @Marja * checks history book *

The ACLU, apparently.

@Marja @Kathleen @antifaintl This is a bit like saying "everyone has a right to play with the basketball, including the people who want to deflate it."

No, that's not how this works.

@Marja Welcome to philosoper Karl Popper's "Paradox of Tolerance," wherin in unlimited tolerance can lead to the extinction of the tolerant society.
@Marja The problem with you equating fascism with "left-wing extremism." (this is called "horseshoe theory" & was most famously used in Trump's "both sides" speech in 2017 btw):
Fascists: we want to use violence to seize power and then forcibly remove or eradicate those we see as inferior outgroups, esp. racial outgroups.
Extreme leftists: we want to stop fascists from hurting people.
You: See? Both sides should be treated equally!
@antifaintl not sure your description of extreme leftists is correct
@Marja @antifaintl But more important: do you, Marja, think fascists should be tolerated? And if not, how is that different from them having rights?
@barend @[email protected]
I will stop this discussion, it's useless.
@Marja @antifaintl not when their politics center on the idea that I have no right to exist. Every time a democracy tolerates fascist ideology, the fascists win.
@Marja @antifaintl
It’s not it’s the route to the end of democracy. Fascists, inherently, have absolutely no belief in the concept of democracy.

@Marja @antifaintl
Fascism doesn't belong in civilised society.

Definition: A political philosophy, movement, or regime (such as that of the Fascisti) that exalts nation and often race above the individual and that stands for a centralized autocratic government headed by a dictatorial leader, severe economic and social regimentation, and forcible suppression of opposition

@antifaintl what's the difference between right wing extremists and left wing extremists?
Hint: there is none
@antifaintl
Since then they have morphed into the Government.
@antifaintl fascists are the human equivalent of locusts. They eat everything and produce nothing.
@antifaintl Who's the photographer?
@kortskalle we wish we knew!

@antifaintl @kortskalle This is only a guess but it looks like Neil Kenlock's style to me.

ETA: The photo appears to be by Chris Steele-Perkins.

@antifaintl slogan can be shortened to:
"Fascists have no rights"
@alizardx
great, *now* we have to time travel back to 1977 to tell the graffiti writer they can save on paint by shortening it!😆
