Finally decided to give this a go. I'll do it as and when, rather than likes/ days.

1. I was playing TTRPGs online with people who already had a lot of books they shared with me for a while before actually buying anything, so maybe some D&D4e adventures from eBay. The same and only FLG, Cheap Thrills, is where a friend picked up the 4e Red Box and introduced us to D&D, we used to play Friday Night Magic which lead to the formation of our IRL group...

It has been so very long since I have stepped foot in any kind of shop, gaming space, or played with anyone except my partner!

2. Favorite TTRPG game world

Honourable mention to The Multiverse from Troika!, The Dying World from Mörk Borg, & The Cy from the Cy_Borg, but the settings I am most obsessed with right now are The Wen from Lichoma and The City from Slayers.

Update 9: Braegn update! · Lichoma: A Meatpunk TTRPG

Hey everyone! Strega here. It's amazing to see we're at $17k already. That means we're really close to our new stretchgoal: Braegn. We're happy to announce that the layout, text and guest art is fully finished now, and all that remains is editing. In the words of Walton:  It's a tool for solo play, group collaborative play, or improvisational GMing that uses the Augury deck and various tables to develop scenes, introduce twists, and develop NPCs. Wolf and Michael made me type this with my thumbs, so that's why it's bad. May also cause cerebral lesions." Our guest artist is Rugose Kohn, who you might know from the Mörk Borg chapbooks, and as being a fellow Bogfolk member. He did this gorgeous artwork for the back of Braegn: As for Braegn itself, here it is (the unedited version, that is):  This will be added as an A3 poster to every box set when we reach $20k, and will be available digitally to every backer. Which means we're almost there! $3000 away, so keep sharing the Kickstarter around, and help us reach this goal!

Slayers by Gila RPGs

"The City
This place lost its name a long time ago. But that’s okay, the
name’s nothing compared to what’s happening here.
The City keeps getting bigger.
At some point in its history, The City was cursed to sprawl, never ending. The walls and borders are ever-shifting. New
districts in The City pop up overnight, suddenly made manifest and already inhabited...

3. A published NPC that had a lasting impression on you

Honourable mention:
Lulu, the Hollyphant, #DnD 5e To Hell and Back Again by Kienna Shaw and Donathin Frye (Baldur's Gate: Descent into Avernus)
https://www.dmsguild.com/product/288363/To-Hell-and-Back-Again?affiliate_id=1507682
Just the most adorable and fun to roleplay NPC I've had the pleasure of voicing in the most absurd and enjoyable way ever. I've never seen her in the campaign, but the fantastic solo adventure (I ran a bunch for myself, duet, and 2 players) she is EVERYTHING

Scoriaptrak, Adult Red Dragon, #DnD 5e Last March of the Tyrant Wyrm by Jean Lorber, Jeff C. Stevens
https://www.dmsguild.com/m/product/299856?affiliate_id=1507682
A truly singular NPC in an entirely original adventure. A once proud fearsome dragon dictator, brought low, befriended by a Druid who shared his cell, now old, wounded, enchanted, & depressed. This reformed monster's (dictator) soul hangs in the balance and is up to the party to guide them, literally and figuratively. Inspired!

3. A published NPC that had a lasting impression on you (1/2)

Rexus Victocora, #Pathfinder Hell's Rebels by @Amazonchique https://pathfinderwiki.com/wiki/Rexus_Victocora

Rexus was the first trans character I was ever aware of, and it wasn't until after the game ended that I found out. At the time I thought I was a cishet man, playing in a group of cishet men, run by my, at the time, considering themselves a cisbi woman. Oh, how the turns have tabled...

...(I'm bi/ pan non binary trans womxn and my partner is bi non binary). The group was pretty lads, lads, lads*, and discovering Rexus had secret that made him shunned by his high society peers, one of us made the assumption he was a cisgay guy and that was what we all ran with. I remember being supportive, but this is a rare time that I am thankful for my awful memory and cringe at the assumption and some of the things I vaguely remember being said at the table.

Now, being trans and looking back, I'm so thankful for their being such an awesome and well written trans character, and talking about it with my partner has really given me pause with making assumptions about NPCs.

Farallax, white dragon fledgling, #DnD 4e Redbox
Still possibly the only dragon I've encountered as a player in all my years and it was in my first ever session. My partner was DMing for first time and I had the absolute pleasure of watching them become Farallax and absolutely roleplay the shit out of this sassy, pompous dragon...

...Truly a mouth agape moment of wonder and one of the best performances I have witnessed first hand that will stay with me forever.

A little disappointed I can't seem to recall any printed NPCs from other games that have impacted me, but my memory is shocking, so I may well come back and add to this to really add confusion to the way mastodon and I seem to handle threads lol

3. A published NPC that had a lasting impression on you (additional)

Puffy the Mushroom girl from Doodles Land (for Tunnel Goons) by @EvlynMoreau (It was published before & will be published again, so it counts!)

She was just an adorable & angry fungal that my inexplicably Cockney orphan latched on to, appreciated her chaos goblin energy towards wanting forbidden alcohol, which would make her go berserk & made sure to keep her armed & a paint pot of alcoholic soup ready for emergencies

4. First TTRPG you bought from its creator

I'm really struggling with narrowing this down and my memory, so I'm going to make a guess and if anything else comes to me I'll add it.

The Wretched by @loottheroom

https://loottheroom.uk/the-wretched

I think this might be the first physical copy of a game I bought from the creator, and was a massive first for me, solo (&) journaling game, and indie TTRPG. It's an absolutely phenomenal game, as is the SRD, and so many phenomenal Wretched & Alone games.

I actually started making notes for a Wretched & Alone game about a charlatan mystic who has come to care for the people they are fleecing and has to juggle their shame and lies with the genuine advice they wish to give and the people who mean something to them.

5. TTRPG you've played the most

When I first started playing TTRPGs, both online and in person, I played a LOT, of the Fantasy Flight Warhammer 40K games, which are all same d100 system focused on different aspects of the Imperium. Rogue Reader and Dark Heresy stood out the most.

In Rogue Trader, I accidentally convinced my partner's character character not to throw themselves into a disappearing Eldar temple...

(4. Cont)

... (which seemed too dangerous at the time), and ended up with our party not getting the thing we were after and being eternally unfulfilled due something with us getting the maps and missions electood onto our brains during the mission.

Dark Heresy was my first in person campaign and I absolutely loved my badass, brash Gunslinger, Jakkine, who was very clearly transition goals even before I knew. Sadly, the campaign ended with what was going to be...

#DarkHeresy #TTRPG
18/

...an epic moment of the revelation of cathedral being an ancient Titan and fighting a Daemon Prince...but a player needing to leave as it was late and being kinda rude to the GM during the build up to the big moment made, understandably, pissed off the GM and the moment, session and campaign just kinda...ended.

Otherwise, I've played a tonne of the Dragon Game, and spent more time playing lots of different games, rather than one for a long time.
