@juddlegum I think the question is, who’s next up for the McCarthy alternative?
I mean, I guess this strategy gives the Republicans about 650 fails on naming a speaker
"The #Trump factor has been put to the test, and the results were less than spectacular."
If I had control over the House of Representatives, I'd want Democrats and Republicans to join together and vote for an HONORABLE and EXPERIENCED centrist who could help bridge the divide between the Democratic Party and the GOP.
You may say I'm a dreamer. But I'm not the only one.
@juddlegum voting against aca 53 times sorta got trump elected. Does that count?
Related, if enough people claim Einstein said something he never said, it appears to have happened.
@juddlegum It's the traditional GQP way to burn time.
Remembering all the kill Obamacare bills, then Benghazi, etc.
You know it's not going to change even after a Speaker is chosen.
@juddlegum Holding repeated speaker votes and just crossing your fingers for the opposition to melt is like watching Titanic over and over, hoping that one time Leo will eventually live.
As Rep. Ken Buck implies, the opposite is more likely to happen as #KevinMcCarthy supporters get disenchanted and withdraw support when it's clear McCarthy can't close the deal.
One positive from this - Trump has proven impotent, even to his own movement.
