Opening my work laptop like a sealed sarcophagus filled with an ancient evil.
@maxeddy I go back on Thursday and am debating between actually reading my emails from the last two weeks and just deleting them all and waiting for the follow-up reminder emails to indicate what I actually need to follow up on...
@YLE_KOT both are valid approaches, but one is a power-move.

@YLE_KOT @maxeddy I always declare email bankruptcy after a long vacation. I donโ€™t delete, though - just mark as read. Then if someone asks for a follow up I can search and find the original email.

But Iโ€™m not going to proactively read 200-300 messages. Thatโ€™s just lunacy.

@mrmikerobertson @maxeddy agreed. Honestly, I never delete anything, I just mark as read and archive so they are still searchable.
@YLE_KOT @maxeddy Having just retired a few months ago, I can say with tremendous relief that I no longer have to face that dilemma, not that I ever developed a workable strategy to cope with it.
@maxeddy I know that feeling. Been back to work for two days now. I'm sure my laptop is cursed and slowly sucking life and my will to live out of me.
@maxeddy I call that my inbox, every morning it greats me with new and exciting things.
@maxeddy @hacks4pancakes good lord same here. I expected Ra to be there and blast me with some sort of laser eyes or something
@maxeddy you know what? I'm just going to quit. Really...I'm telling my manager today that I'm leaving. ๐Ÿ˜†
@maxeddy Here's to exorcising those demons!

@maxeddy

What are the sacred words you must whisper over it to protect you from the curse?

(Watch out for that cursor!)

@Myoldpiano There's no escape, no protection, from the curse of email.

@maxeddy

...Do some people *not* start their days this way? ๐Ÿค”

@maxeddy I let an encrypted post-it to my present self but it's making things more confusing ๐Ÿ˜…
@maxeddy
Dude, same.
I barely remember my login credentials.
@maxeddy *struggles to remember password*
@maxeddy the primordial deliverables await...
