What apps are you using? I've found that some apps are failing to properly save the AltText (and probably need a bug report on that). It can sometimes help to try a delete/redraft and try again, but if that tails, just putting it in the reply can help a lot too!

Also, if ti helps, the AltText in your first post shows for me! Thank you for that.

Ahh, ok. Yes, Mastodon app does not consistently show AltText but it's still viewable on other apps/clients.

More accessible apps that consistently show it (for Android) is Yuito, Tusky, FediLab, Pinafore (web-client that also works on phones), Megalodon. For iOS, I could share a website that reviews accessibility if you have that instead.

Mastodon app may need another bug report submitted with a screenshot of what you're seeing to push them to fix.
