Can you name the tower behind me? Hint: I’m in London.

While I’m here, be sure to grab tickets to see me live on stage in Allegiance from Jan-Apr. Yes, I’m 85 and still going strong and breaking new ground!

@georgetakei Looks a tad shardy...
And welcome to the UK
(for which I cannot help feeling I need to apologise)
I hope you have a great time here.
@georgetakei THE SHARD. Enjoy your time in London, Mr. Takei!
@georgetakei Barad-dûr?
@georgetakei @ygalanter Better than mine - I was going to say the Cheesegrater
@seb321 @georgetakei @ygalanter London already has a cheese grater, on Leadenhall Street. The Brits are brilliant at naming buildings. They have a shaver as well
@naomir @ygalanter @georgetakei I like the way Jodi Taylor makes them up in St Mary’s books.
@georgetakei you can't fool me, sir, that is Barad-dûr. Apparently Sauron is resting his eye and having a nap though.
@georgetakei The Shard. You’re in my town baby! #london
@georgetakei it’s a lamppost George.
@georgetakei That’s The Shard. Hope you are enjoying your time in the UK!
@georgetakei the shard! It reminds me of One Vanderbilt in NYC. London is such a great city and the weather is actually better than NYCs this time of year!
@georgetakei you should go up, it has a viewing floor
@georgetakei happy New Year’s Eve George! 🥂🎉
May this year be your greatest yet.
Best of luck with your show.
@georgetakei That's the Shard, completed in 2011, I think.
@georgetakei Mr Takei, as a fan, I’d like to thank you for your body of work, but more importantly for you stand on human rights and activism. We should honor our good people before they leave this earth. We’ve had so many leave before being recognized as decent humans. Thank you for being you!
@georgetakei The Shard. Stopped there for a couple of nights and enjoyed the views. Welcome to the UK. As a fellow adventurer once said to you "Mr. Sulu, you may... indulge yourself". Have fun in London
@georgetakei its the Peak of Mount Doom.
@georgetakei I would recognize the Empire State Building at any angle. Happy New Year to you.

@georgetakei it’s a lamp post - I don’t think we name our lamp posts in London.

Unless you mean the Eye of Sauron over your left shoulder

@georgetakei That is the Shard. It's the Tallest building in the UK
@georgetakei it’s the transameri… oh… nvmd

@georgetakei Hi George and best wishes. That thing behind you is The Shard, although several folks have beaten me to it.

JMO but The Gherkin is way cooler looking.

@georgetakei The Shard. Welcome to London!
@georgetakei i call it the Sky Pickle.

@georgetakei

85 George?! You must be made of sterner stuff than I! Or you're employing those advanced alien technologies to stay active. I'm in my fifties and feel ready to cross the rainbow bridge today, right now! I'd much rather party with God than stumble around here being ignorant, naked and Irish, but She ain't having it yet. >Sigh< Oh well, time to turn up the music and get more Irish.

@georgetakei Enjoy That London, Mr Takei. The Shard is magnificent, and I hope you have time to visit Tate Modern.

Tower? You can't fool me. That's clearly a nose hair trimmer.

@georgetakei

@georgetakei Hi George! I’m amazed by what you’re still doing at your age. Still, it’s not shameful to not been able to do the same at the same age. Or even less.

@georgetakei

The lack of a bowler hat saddens me a tiny bit.

@georgetakei Dang. If I can be a creator (writing books) at 85, I will be very happy. Congrats on all you have achieved.
@georgetakei You might be able to see the sea from the top (in theory). But probably not on a day like today.
@georgetakei looks more like a lamppost
@georgetakei Could be the missing Shard of the Dark Crystal.
@georgetakei So much joy that you're alive and kicking

Thank you for being you
