I just received this book, "Facial Diagnosis of Cell Salt Deficiencies," as a holiday gift.

I can't find out much about the author except that he has a degree in psychology and has appointed himself an expert on #homeopathy.

To me this looks like the work of a scammer or of a true believing magical thinker.

But what do I know? I'm not a #dermatologist, a #CellBiologist, or a #nutritionist.

Which of these should I ask to vet this questionable tome?

What kind of thank you note is correct?

@Deborah909 I say: if you meet them, hang on to your wallet and back slowly out of the room. as to how to respond to the giver: I have no useful suggestions at all… I have hit this snag more than once but never once felt satisfied with that conversation

@jeffsonstein

Thanks for your response, which confirms my gut feeling about the #author of the #book. 😀

As for the proper mode of thanking the giver, I agree that it's hard to think of something. I want to be #polite and respectful, and at the same time discourage similar gifts. I've told the giver 4 or 5 five times before that because of my complicated #medical status I can't take #health #advice except from professionals with the proper #BoardCertification.

@Deborah909 some folks just do not listen, sad to say
