The perfect storm Musk is hoping for in the flight tracking world may be coming…
Facts we know
- The Saudi Arabians own a large stake in Twitter
- The Saudi Arabians also don’t like flight tracking, they’ve contacted ADSBExchange to request to be blocked and offered money. They’ve also expressed there concerns to the ICAO.

Based off of facts I see here and other information I can not share as of yet. I am very confident at the very least the Saudis are involved with future developments and possibly Musk too. Given the stance we know Elon has on my tracking I wouldn’t be surprised.

If you had owned something that people didn’t like (like a network of thousands of aircraft tracking receivers) and someone offered you millions of dollars for it you would take the deal wouldn’t you!?!? Only a mater of time…
(2/2)

Note: I don’t own a network like that I get data from it….
@JxckS
Wth is going on? I totally support your efforts, but my moral support isn't worth anything.
@JxckS
So all I need to do is set up my own federation of rtl_sdr sticks across the world and I can rake in sweet payments from those who wish to keep a low profile?
@JxckS did you ever wonder taking his money and build something even more annoying with it?
@JxckS this by sneaky elon… the guy who told society to have more kids, because his baby mamas were about to find out about each other now a lot of folks can’t even choose & get safe abortions 🫣
… when Elon has an oopsie he tells civilization that his way is ok… (😫 That is the worst)
“I honestly don’t trust him & don’t want to see him landing around here” said so many freaked out people 🤣
@JxckS “If you had owned something that people didn’t like and someone offered you millions of dollars for it you would take the deal wouldn’t you!?!?”
I’d like to think not, that I’d stand up for the values I believe in. But it’s hard to fault others, especially ones who don’t have day jobs paying as well, for making that choice.
@JxckS
There are competing networks though?
@JxckS Good thing ADS-B receivers can federate without too much effort.

@JxckS Wait, so the US doesn't have its own infrastructure for tracking plane locations? The location tracking system is privately owned?

Planes have to talk to air traffic control. We own ATC, don't we?

@peatbog @JxckS Every ATC facility has its own ADS-B gear. Anyone with a few dozen bucks in their pocket can set up their own receiver. ADSBExchange just aggregates the data from individually owned receivers.

@nocleverhandle @JxckS

"... Currently they are tracking over 200 aircraft that belong to “authoritarian regimes” as determined by The Economist Intelligence Unit. This would not be possible without ADS-B Exchange as dictators and government officials are often the first people to demand that trier aircraft be filtered out."
https://www.adsbexchange.com/partnerships/

Dictator buy-out: predictable, eh?

Public ownership is safer than private when it comes to #fatcatbullshit.

Partnerships - ADS-B Exchange

ADS-B Exchange is happy to partner with the following organizations, these two-way partnerships help ADS-B Exchange to expand our worldwide feeder network while using the collected data to enact positive change in the world. ADS-B Exchange is proud to collaborate with C4ADS to support its mission to produce data-driven reporting to understand, prevent, and mitigate Read More ...

ADS-B Exchange
@peatbog @JxckS AIUI, ADS-B Exchange does not own the receivers -- it's just a network of receivers owned by individuals. If some dictator buys ADS-B Exchange... they get the historical database and nothing else.

@nocleverhandle @JxckS
Cool beans.

Thanks for knowing things!

@peatbog @JxckS Distributed ownership of the infrastructure is best in cases like this, because there's no single pressure point that can be co-opted or bought.
@JxckS It would be interesting to analyze saudi-ownes jet flights with elon's movements. To see if they were at the same place at the same times (and how many times it happened)

@JxckS What do you mean "The Saudi Arabians own a large stake in Twitter"

Are you implying that the Saudi's are the funding behind the loans that Musk took out (with Tesla stock as collateral) in order to come up with the $44B in cash? Or has Musk already redistributed some stock (just not controlling interest) to help pay for those loans?

@jwsgeek @JxckS I have read somewhere that that the Saudi’s have loaned a few billion for the twitter loans of the buyout deal
Saudi Prince Alwaleed Becomes Twitter’s Second Largest Shareholder

After flip-flopping on his support of Elon Musk’s bid for the social media company, the royal confirmed he followed through with his $1.9 billion equity commitment to the social media company’s new owner.

Forbes
@JxckS people who feed ADSB exchange Can just stop, right? And folks could just use some other service. If Elon+Twitter has taught me anything it is that if billionaire buys a tech, folks can very easily move
@User47 @JxckS presently no other service that offers 0 filtering on global API calls and MLAT positioning using multiple nearby feeders for older transponder protocols. I would hope some of their code is under CC license
@helicoptersofdc @User47 @JxckS They claim "Well we are very proud to say our entire system is not only built using Open Source software, but that we actively submit improvements to many of those Open Source projects on a regular basis. That means you could actually download every piece of our system from public sources and run a site just like ours, including the multi thousand dollar hosting bills" I don't know if anyone has tried to backcheck that https://www.adsbexchange.com/open-source-software/
Open Source Software - ADS-B Exchange

Now ADS-B Exchange would be a bunch of hypocrites if we raved on how this data should be public if we then went and used a bunch of secret computer code to run everything, right? Well we are very proud to say our entire system is not only built using Open Source software, but that Read More ...

ADS-B Exchange
@JxckS After 9/11 the tracking of any aircraft is a matter of not only national security but public record accessible. Saudi doesn't want to be tracked because they should be considered a terrorist country, they didn't count on those flights on 9/11 being trackable.

@JxckS
Do billionaires own the air space now?

Do the public own anything anymore?

I am sick of fat cat bullshit.

#fatcatbullshit

@peatbog @JxckS seems to think he owns space, or at least able to pollute it with Starlink, so why not airspace
@peatbog @JxckS i am sick of their corruption.

@peatbog @JxckS

If it goes on like it does they will pretty much own everything really soon - mere wage labor slaves like me included. /o\

@JxckS

If the 9/11 bone saw Saudi bastards ask the US government to hide their special planes because special... Imma be mad. So mad, Imma write my congress critters. And call their offices. Maybe daily.

@JxckS
The Saudis are used to telling the poors to go fuck themselves. Because that is how they do in their shit hole country.

We need to teach them the poors are "We, the People" here and they can kiss our asses!

@JxckS Is the full paper available freely anywhere? I’m curious what the actual proposals are that would keep ADSB working in a way that’s useful for air traffic management without exposing the (supposed) privacy and security risks mentioned in that abstract. I would have thought open broadcast by all aircraft of this data is what makes it of use at all for air traffic purposes.
@JxckS The Saudis bought off the Trump family and now they are getting cocky about what kind of authoritarian BS they can get away with in the West.

@JxckS

Thinking the Barbara Streisand effect may apply here. Good luck them trying.

@JxckS If they aren't doing anything wrong, what do they have to fear? We are ALL tracked. Some of those that don't like tracking, TRACK US!

The upshot being that those with money can demand zero tracking 100% of the time because, well they have money and must be "good" people. The rest of us are all "bad" people that must have big brother 110% of the time

A plane goes missing and there is no tracking, there will be more than an outcry.

@MozzieBytes @JxckS
They must have something to hide I guess 🤣🤣
@JxckS Maybe they should just start flying coach.
@JxckS maybe the next bot should be a Saudi plane tracker
