Cafeteria workers, EVS, pharmacists, therapists, facilities folks, transporters, nurse practitioners, radiology techs, lab staff, and more.
It takes a village, and they are such amazing people.
Christmas Eve, 1977, and a military patient in Madrid needs transport, so we're sent down from Frankfurt. The hospital can't stop the patient from bleeding, and the community rallies, with a line out the door to donate blood. We transport out the patient the next day.
Some things stick with you for a lifetime. Peace, for this season of peace.
@rbreich Indeed.
Wish I could sneak up to the ICU floors today with candy.
(Local hospital has serious security and I don't want to mess with them today. Maybe tomorrow.)
@rbreich may I add utility workers (my dad worked for ConEd), Transit Workers (my Brother-In-Law is an Engineer for Metro North), firefighters, police, and EMTs? All of whom make it so we can celebrate safely.
And their families who have to be separated from their loved ones and delay their celebrations.
