Thinking of the thousands of nurses, hospital aides, chaplains, social workers, and doctors who are caring for the sick this Christmas.

@rbreich

Cafeteria workers, EVS, pharmacists, therapists, facilities folks, transporters, nurse practitioners, radiology techs, lab staff, and more.

It takes a village, and they are such amazing people.

@KarynDoc @rbreich thank you! Working more days over Christmas than anyone else in the hospital, for the lowest pay, and no-one ever mentions us, so it's appreciated

@JoDavies @rbreich

Its appreciated by me. Thank you so much!

Forgot to mention the security team, registrars, EMS folks, and so many more.

@rbreich they deserve the recognition
@rbreich And all the unpaid caregivers taking care of the elderly.

@rbreich

Christmas Eve, 1977, and a military patient in Madrid needs transport, so we're sent down from Frankfurt. The hospital can't stop the patient from bleeding, and the community rallies, with a line out the door to donate blood. We transport out the patient the next day.

Some things stick with you for a lifetime. Peace, for this season of peace.

@rbreich I had to go into the ER last night with a scary infection and I was so thankful for the folks there for taking care of me. My heroes!
@rbreich I'm married to one - it's absolutely evil how we put profit over people (both employees and the people we serve).

@irjudson I agree that something must change, just hoping we won't have to wait another generation for universal healthcare.

@rbreich

@rbreich the true heroes. God bless them all.

@rbreich Indeed.

Wish I could sneak up to the ICU floors today with candy.

(Local hospital has serious security and I don't want to mess with them today. Maybe tomorrow.)

@rbreich thinking of all those sick people, having to be away from their homes, because they are sick enough, to be in a hospital 😔
@rbreich My 95 year old mother-in-law was rushed to the ER yesterday, from her nursing home, and admitted to the hospital. We’re so thankful for everyone who works straight through, regardless of the day. Without their care, we’d be planning a funeral.
@rbreich And we’re thinking about former Secretaries of Labor - thank you, too!
@rbreich Thank you! It’s the sacrifices we make daily that most often get lost, especially when we can’t be with our families.
@rbreich thank you for bringing their service to light ☀️ happy holidays all
@rbreich I prefer to do it- don’t have to deal with the holiday BS with family 🤪
@rbreich so many kind care professionals out there, their work is under appreciated
@rbreich In Buffalo they’re on their 3rd day of work without going home
@rbreich I think about them not just today. They are catching a lot of what ails our country and I would not be surprised if the healthcare system will be the ignition for massive strikes. This Physician had a good summary of what is wrong with our healthcare system. https://youtu.be/b4HIwKZF74U
Why are so many doctors leaving medicine?

YouTube
@rbreich iike the cut of your virtue signaling
@rbreich Absolutely. Had to spend 3 hours in the ER after midnight on Christmas Eve. Amazing people working there, every one of them.

@rbreich may I add utility workers (my dad worked for ConEd), Transit Workers (my Brother-In-Law is an Engineer for Metro North), firefighters, police, and EMTs? All of whom make it so we can celebrate safely.

And their families who have to be separated from their loved ones and delay their celebrations.

@rbreich Stressed-out health care system is costing lives.
