I don’t drink much anymore because my body doesn’t like me when I do.

I love great wine though. If you appreciate wine and you understand what makes a good wine, and you have the palate to really taste the complexities — wine is wonderful.

But when you don’t feel good after, you might ignore that for a while — maybe even for years, but you become increasingly sensitive to it and bothered in smaller increments.

And this is where I am these days. #alcohol

@snarkysteff I've mostly traded alcohol for cannabis and the odd craft beer. But I still love champagne, and we went to a Michelin star place for a tasting menu the other night and the sommelier did not disappoint with wine suggestions all around.

I just like stopping before I wind up being in a state I'll regret the next day. It isn't remotely worth it. Never really has been.

@NickTheSkydiver yeah, I smoke weed for sure. No problems with having vices but they have to be vices that don’t have a net negative effect like alcohol always has these days. I’d love to be able to have a glass a day and pay no price for it but my body doesn’t work that way these days. It is what it is. Maybe one day. We go through phases, so you never know.
@snarkysteff Yeah. I don't tolerate it well and don't miss it most of the time.

@NickTheSkydiver yeah, it’s harder to pass on it at Christmas but this is the year I’ve drank the least in my life since I was 17!

Pretty sweet. I’ll behave again next week, but I’m looking forward to it rather than dreading it, like I used to. Feeling better is a good thing.
