Texas’ Greg Abbott has been doing this for some time as a political stunt, but it’s not yet confirmed who is behind tonight’s busing, happening on Christmas Eve.

We (Democrats) say our strongholds (eg DC) welcome migrants and provide them a nice life and that Republican strongholds (eg Texas) are terrible places for migrants. So once we say that, we're as much as admitting it's better for migrants for Abbott to bus them to DC than keep them in Texas.

And anybody who thinks this will deter a single migrant is truly ignorant about the desperation it takes to risk everything to cross a border. @gambit_1 @cspcypher @tusk81 the real problem there is that even if it is, state mechanisms exist now for DeSantis to just ignore that ruling and have a judge he's appointed or created to give him the rulings his need.

But on the flip side, DeSantis & the flgop has been running this state with the same quality as Putin runs russia & services are failing & collapsing with every crisis. If biden wasn't a better man than DeSantis, Biden could break DeSantis with a single hurricane.

The Migrant Solidarity Network (including a bunch of churches and I think synagogues too) have been showing up for every busload, often with about 36 hours notice. (Of course, the churches/synagogues involved have a schedule of "just in case" space reservations.)

I'm so glad to see the addition of baby-related stuff on the wishlist. I've seen families come through with babies under a month old.
