A few pictures from around the yard. The last photo is of the tree I was hoping would come down. It was hung up in a spruce for a year or so.

We didn't go into the back woods due to the danger of potential trees still coming down, but I counted five and maybe six trees down. It looks like all the white cedar trees from pre-colonization are still standing so that's good.

Gusts are 40mph in the Grand Marais harbor β€” much better than 70mph yesterday.

Bethlehem Lutheran Church lost its solar panels.

A tree barely missed these houses in Grand Marais. There are a lot of downed trees everywhere in town.

@bryanhansel Yikes! I heard you had winds of like 71 mph. Did you lose power? Take care and Merry Christmas!
@KimSVanderwall power is out county-wide other than in Grand Marais proper. They gave a generator.
@bryanhansel oh, man. I don't think insurance covers those.
@bryanhansel Can't imagine the wind speed needed to do that.
@bobmueller NOAA recorded 74mph

@bryanhansel I hope my panels are rated higher than that.

And I hope I never have to test it.
