Auschwitz prisoner no. 79042.

He illegally created many portraits of co-prisoners at Auschwitz, Buchenwald, Sachsenhausen, and Gross-Rosen camps. He survived.

Among surviving documents, we can find his Auschwitz registration photograph as well as his self-portrait from Auschwitz.

Franciszek Jaźwiecki passed away in October 1946.

Illegal because they show the humanity of those the Germans so despised. Photographs are clinical. Portraits show the pain.
