The way the Ukrainian military is dismantling the Russian army, the United States is getting the deal of the century with the aid package we are providing.

Imagine the amount of defense spending that wasn't able to accomplish what Ukraine has done in a year.

It will take Russia decades to replenish its military if it is even possible with the economic sanctions.

The humanitarian aspect of this conflict is catastrophic. We can't waste time as millions are under the constant threat of death.

@RedTRaccoon I'm worried about Russia's people. They have been led astray and even with a regime change, they will not be able to attract outside investment. They will be hounded to repay costs due to damage on other countries. Played wrong, it would be ripe for a nationalistic party like the Nazis of pre WWII in Germany.

@RedTRaccoon Speaking of which...

@TimothyDSnyder has joined with @U24_gov_ua to fundraise for an anti-drone defense system that will help Ukraine keep the lights and heat on this winter. Folks can chip in here. https://u24.gov.ua/shahedhunter

A FUNDRAISER THAT WILL MAKE HISTORY. JOIN TIMOTHY SNYDER'S FUNDRAISER FOR THE «SHAHED HUNTER»!

Professor of History at Yale University, Timothy Snyder is raising funds for the 'Shahed Hunter‘ anti-drone system. Support the fundraiser and protect peaceful Ukrainian cities from terrorist drone attacks!

@RedTRaccoon And the Ukrainians are using “outdated” materiel from many nations who were planning to decommission them anyhow.
@Lee_in_Iowa @RedTRaccoon Though some of that at least was because it was better to give them things they already knew how to use.
@RedTRaccoon My Twitter friend, nice to find you here! I just signed up myself. Just another Twitter refugee I guess! It is really getting CRAZY over there now! I knew Musk would be bad for Twitter but not THIS bad! 🤦 I kept my same handle and profile picture so people can find me easier. Good to see you again. 👍
@RedTRaccoon Not only that, but the elite crack rifle squad that guards Russia's nukes on the Kola Peninsula has been decimated on the Donetsk battlefield...
@RedTRaccoon
Absolutely right. Just think of all the nations that directly benefit from Russia’s self emolation … incl Europe, Africa and the Middle East (Syria!).
@RedTRaccoon Talk to me after the war. There’s that pesky Nazi problem.

@RedTRaccoon
After the fall of the USSR, many ceased to view Russia as a threat to the West. But despite hopes for the best, many others of us knew the old Cold War never really ended.

Putin's actions for well over a decade demonstrate that he and Russia are a danger to the entire world. There can be no doubt he will continue to blatantly commit brutal war crimes and crimes against humanity until he is stopped.

#SlavaUkraini 🇺🇸 🇺🇦

@RedTRaccoon I concur. Also, the government of China 🇨🇳 is watching this conflict as well & is probably taking notes. The military of Russia 🇷🇺 has no ocean to cross, & has direct economic ties with their neighbors (via gas ⛽️), yet they are losing against Ukraine 🇺🇦 due to the latter’s international support.

I wish the United States 🇺🇸 would consider ousting Russia 🇷🇺 from Burkina Faso 🇧🇫 & Mali 🇲🇱 as they are committing war crimes in those countries as well via the Wagner Mercenaries.

@RedTRaccoon My best hope is that this conflict would finally cast out the old guard in Europe, who still think in terms of the second world war and see strong militaries in Europe as leading to another war between the nations.

I think it’s time to see the world anew, one in which Europe is not the center and stands united, carrying it’s own weight in keeping the neighbours from causing trouble.

@gimulnautti

I worry about the blood price.

I wonder if Obama had have, or had have been able to, hit back hard upon the invasion of Georgia if all this could have been nipped in the bud.

But ya, it is a hell of a deal. Not just the bleed of Russia, but exposing the Bear as paper.

I wish europe would have been more aggressive rebutting Russian aggression.

@RedTRaccoon being on the right side of history has been my MO since freshman year of high school. Ukraine is on the right side of history.
