Been five days since Twitter suspended a bunch of journalists, including me, for tweeting out factual reporting. And we're still suspended.
CNN's @donieosullivan, NYT's Ryan Mac and I can't access Twitter until we delete specific tweets that they said included "private information" but were actually just reporting.
Journalists Linette Lopez and Susan Li, who also covered Musk, are still suspended. No explanation given.
@ginamsi @drewharwell @donieosullivan
Yes, thank you, thank you, thank you, a thousand times thank you for NOT DELETING THE TWEET.
I don't see how real journalists can participate on a platform that BLATANTLY abuses journalists. Come on man, I wish journalists would show just a tiny bit of courage.
@drewharwell @donieosullivan You're close to exiting an abusive relationship.
Each day, it will get easier, but there will be points where you stumble -- that's okay. Give yourself space to grieve and, when you're ready, start to fill that space with new, better news sources that don't mistreat you.
You are no one's punching bag. You are special and you are loved.
Be strong and shine bright. You are worth it.
This was the last straw for me with Twitter. Deleted their app from the phone and basically stopped using it. Just can't see supporting an entity that is silencing legit journalists.
Easy, as I'm not making my living by reach on twitter: Delete your account and make me believe there is sth. as a "journalist".
Elon did NOT "unban" all banned "journalists", just some.
What if you deleted that post on Elon's request? What is next? 1984? Take her?
I 'd like him to get back to Engineering, he is a genius in that discipline.
I currently like, follow, boost every twitter refugee to help.
Plus: You can use the "Banned by Elon" Badge of Honour:
It’s not news anymore, and anyway it is about YOU. I suggest you and other #journalists move to a place where YOU won’t be the news.
#Musk owns #Twitter. So him pushing people around in it was barely news to start with. It only became such enormously big news when #reporters could talk about themselves.
Why has no reporter noticed that Musk has said NOTHING about the #Artemis1 mission? I suppose because it didn’t involve reporters.
@tmstreet @drewharwell @donieosullivan
It’s paydirt for them. They get to aggrandize themselves as the victims in a blown up scandal.
But really it’s just a financially shaky service company that got bought -- lock, stock, and barrel -- by a jackass. So now the service is REALLY unreliably available, but they won’t admit it.
