I’m listening to the great podcast Mystery AI Hype Theater by @emilymbender and @alex and was struck by the thought that a lot of AI is people building products to replace the personal secretaries/assistants of old.

Ie why “book airline reservations” or “book dinner reservations” are so often cited is because these are as Alex noted feminine coded tasks in earlier generations handled by manager’s secretaries on their behalf. (Or by “personal assistants” ala Hollywood/depictions of rich folk)
