BREAKING: *** Musk already trying to discredit "you should step down" #Twitter poll ***

After silence for hours after the poll, he's now saying only paying "Twitter Blue" subscribers should be able to vote in Twitter policy polls, and seems to be expressing interest in theories that bot armies controlled by his enemies skewed the poll vote against him staying CEO.

I'm sorry, there's just no other great way to put this:
"The same old s*it."

@lauren I was waiting for that.
@lauren as unsurprising as the sunrise. 😎
@lauren No need for "theories" when he owns the data and can see which account made every vote.
@lauren STOP THE COUNT! STOP THE COUNT!
@mattblaze @lauren Obviously the voting machine used was fraudulent
@tprophet @lauren maybe it was all those mailed-in poll entries. Did they check the paper for bamboo?
@mattblaze @tprophet Secret flash drives hidden in body orifices, no doubt.
@lauren @mattblaze @tprophet Don’t threaten me with a good time.
@tprophet @mattblaze @lauren That’s literally the argument he seems to be making. How absurd.

Obviously the voting machine used was fraudulent

My take is that SpaceElmo called the poll because he had had enough and was looking for a face saving way out.

I would not be in the least bit surprised if the poll was rigged so SpaceElmo didn't get thrashed too badly. They wanted him to 'lose' but the margin couldn't be too small or too big. 15% would be just right.

But the king of 'not thinking things through' clearly hasn't though of who is going to replace him. And its not like there is going to be a long queue of competent folk wanting to take the job.

@tprophet @mattblaze @lauren

@hallam How did you quote someone?
@FMF I turned on Markdown posting and stuck a > in front of the quote.
@tprophet @mattblaze @lauren - Yes, the M*sk twit*** poll failed to use hand marked paper ballots that were hand counted. Oh, and its defective also because it did not use ranked choice and there was no govt' issued photo id requirement. And the poll was open to immigrants!!

@lauren @pacanukeha that’s legitimately hilarious
@mattblaze @lauren
LOL 😂 wasn’t his big thing about getting rid of the bots?
@lauren yes only those that pay can vote. Sounds just like something a free speech absolutist would say. I was just thinking “he’s kept his mouth closed see we don’t hear anything then boom”
@lauren So he wants to undo a vote.
Where have we seen this before?
@lauren He really should have handlers, not yes-men.
@lauren i already assumed this.
@lauren say it ain’t so! A poll tax of $8 to vote? Close the polls arbitrarily? Not a surprise. Why does Elon want the facade of credibility? Elon can and will do whatever he wants. His freedom of speech, my freedom to not listen.

@lauren Well, that puts the kibosh on the popular theory that he wanted a “yes” vote as a pretext to bow to lender pressure.

I was kicking myself for believing he wanted a “no” vote as vindication… but I guess he did. And he’s more needy than tricky, maybe.

@lauren Did he check the Twitter HQ security cameras for mules delivering clicks?
@lauren
No! I dare you step over THIS line.

@lauren

Follow the narcissistic supply.

@lauren Watching him systematically deconstruct every detail of his carefully crafted image in public is strangely fascinating.
@lauren good, i want him to stay there and make him try to fix it.
@lauren my guess is he’s out before February.
Why? Elon wants to be revered. And he doesn’t have a leadership “win” to show since his takeover.
Meanwhile the business world is fixated on his failures at Twitter and the threat to Tesla.
A direct correlation is apparent between his lack of impulse control, the seemingly siloed decision making, and the declining company performance.
The poll indicates he knows he’s part of the problem. Now it’s about saving face.
@lauren Clearly the vote was rigged . . . Where have we heard that before?
@lauren You mean all the bots he got rid of? He’s always admitting to his lies…heh.
@lauren he wants money fo rvoting in th epolls? BETTER HAVE an NFT....
@lauren "I will abide by the results of this poll" was the funniest joke I'd heard all week. Honestly I hope he keeps running Twitter, it'll help people find Mastodon. Least that's what it did for me.
@lauren “the vote was rigged” 🤣
Dicktaters gonna do what dicktaters always do

@lauren

Well, it is unwise to jump head-first on the shallow end of the pool.

@lauren He's managing to make such bad decision, that you should consider putting a "Warning: Dumpster fire at blue bird" CW on news reports. :-D
@lauren And of course, right after saying that all future major policy decisions would be put to a poll, the major policy change to disallow votes from those who don't subscribe to Twitter Blue was itself not put to a poll.
@Trajecient @lauren It's all pure Calvinball on Space Karen's part anyway, so I don't think it means very much.
@jobsboils @Trajecient I honestly cannot make a determination. It's like seeing patterns in a kaleidoscope. Chaos.

@lauren @Trajecient There's a reason why they call malignant narcissists like Elon (and you know who) "crazy makers."

Which is why I'm trying hard not to treat his antics has indicating anything significant.
