Based on https://globe.adsbexchange.com/?icao=a835af&lat=34.178&lon=-119.169&zoom=9.5&showTrace=2022-12-13&timestamp=1670902710, Elon's jet has a PIA hex code (which obfuscates its identity) but was using its tail number (which reveals its identity) for a call sign? Am I misreading this?

It's been pointed out that I did misread, but in the funnier direction. It wasn't using a PIA hex code (you can look up N628TS on https://registry.faa.gov/aircraftinquiry/Search/NNumberInquiry), so literally no identity obfuscation.

Do it! It's easy to set up and you can get a surprising amount of coverage with even a shit antenna -- and even better with a $75 investment or so!
