Anyone still on #Twitter should ask Post.news lead investor Marc Andreessen why he’s doing a Twitter Space with #QElon’s #TwitterFiles rodeo clown Mario Nawhal who is BFFs with Malaysian Nazi propagandist Ian Miles-Cheong.

Also, why is Post.news worth $250M?
AYFKM? Has anyone actually been there?
#EvacuateTwitter

Post.news is a Twitter clone that’s being invested in by the same people that turned Twitter into 8chan in the first place. Why the fuck would we want to repeat the same mistake?
#DefinitionOfInsanity

Post.news lead investor Marc Andreessen proves to be another anarcho-capitalist “longtermist” tech bro who believes American democracy is lame and boring and rich guys should just be left alone to decide everything for all the poors.

Here he is pushing Kanye West interviewer Lex Fridman and Michael Malice, a sadistic troll and a secessionist anarchist as a “white pill.”

For fuck’s sake. Grow up, Marc.

Longtermism — The Stupid Idea with the Stupid Name

This is another way to say “I’m an arrogant asshole”

MindWar: The Psychological War on Democracy

Marc Andreessen’s #Twitter timeline is a slimy bowl of pseudo-intellectual anarcho-capitalist propaganda and #Elmo worship. Marc is a big fan of chaos, which is probably why he helped turn Twitter into 8chan, and built Post to collect all the escaping libs so he could monetize them.

Marc is super concerned with “wokeness” and “communism” and adds to racist disinformation about #BlackLivesMatter.

Seriously, how much control does this asshat have at Post?

The CEO of Post.news founded Waze, which I was very early to join because I thought an independent mapping service was important to support. Then he sold it to Google for a billion dollars.

How high does the valuation have to go before he sells Post.news to a tech giant?

Mad respect for Marc Elias, but this is nonsense. I trusted Post.news CEO Noam Bardin with my data at Waze and then he sold it to Google — who monetized it into their massive advertising database.

Then Noam stayed on as a Google executive making millions for 8 years. I’m not sure how that is supposed to equate with “trust.”

Waze CEO Noam Bardin explains why he left Google 2 weeks ago

Bardin quit, he writes on paygo, not because of any 'confrontational disagreement' with the US tech giant, but because he was 'worn down by the nature of the beast'

Good news everyone! Your edgy #Twitter alternative Post.news uses Twitter authentication to log you in now. 😂

This way #QElon can track you no matter where you are. 🫤
Seriously, come on guys. This is so fucking dumb.

I wrote about how #QElon and Marc #Andreessen are trying to divide and conquer American sanity.

“Andreessen claims this is about ‘free speech’ but it’s nothing of the sort. It’s exact opposite of that. These psychotic billionaires are intentionally dividing Americans into separate camps, that they control, in order to radicalize us and pit us against each other for their own profit.”

Divide and Conquer: The Tech Bro Plan to Eliminate American Sanity

Tracy Beanz, TwitterFiles, Post.news, Marc Andreessen and #QElon

MindWar: The Psychological War on Democracy
@jimstewartson at least we now know where these VC bros are trying to take us.
@jimstewartson sadly, it is happening all over the world…
@jimstewartson
Not just ani-fascist. Need to be anti-billionaire.
@jimstewartson
It pains me that some smart folks I like and trust, like Dr. Alison Gill and Angry Staffer, think moving to Post is a good alternative. Hoping they will see the light. It felt off to me from the get.
@jimstewartson
Thanks for addressing the Andreessen aspect of Post. Too many people are either unaware of his involvement or way too dismissive of its relevance. Post is a terrible option.
@MWRA @jimstewartson Marc Andreessen is a malevolent humpty dumpy that got lucky once and called it genius and we’re still paying for it as a society
@hammancheez @MWRA @jimstewartson In case anyone else is confused like I was, I will save them a Google search: Andreessen Horowitz is the name of Marc Andreessen’s venture capital firm.
@jimstewartson it's a shame that wealth is wasted on idiots and evil people
@jimstewartson “twitter alternative” hahahaha. haha. ha.
@jimstewartson Marc Andreessen was among the more effective COVID Denialists. I was following because I was an early investor in Basic Attention Token & early user of the Brave Browser. Dude would post charts & data & it was enough to make me a bit skeptical, too. Ended up blocking his Twitter & switching over to Edge, which I like better. Dude should be a legend, but he’s a goddamn chump to me.
@jimstewartson That's fine, it's basically the LinkedIn of Twitter anyway so they can keep it.

@jimstewartson Post is looking like a platform intended for microtransactions to me, so their use of federated logins via Twitter doesn't surprise me. Any resemblance to a mass communication platform may well be coincidental.

Don't know about everyone else, but I'm not interested in a free-to-play platform that dings my account for thirty cents if I misclick.

@jimstewartson Its only half bad. By using the twitter oAuth, Post can extract data from the twitter account to set up a Post account which saves time. Yes, twitter can see how many twitter users (and who) are using Post (when they auth over twitter). And twitter knows the date/time when those users clicked the auth button.

But nothing more. Twitter cannot know what your account is over there. And they cannot know what or when you post.

@jimstewartson @robostreamer Why not offer Google, Apple, and Facebook authentication instead? Twitter is looking seriously unstable, so I just don't see how a little more convenience is worth the risk.

I can only see this as a sign that Post wants to coexist with Twitter rather than replace it.

@segv11 I dont have a Post account so I have no idea. I just wanted to point out that the auth feature does not mean that Twitter can track you on the other service beyond the fact that you are there.

Your email adress is usually transferred over as well, so in case Twitter goes down or boots the Service from using its API (which happens often with Twitter), users can still login the "oldschool" way through email and password.

@jimstewartson this just another cage with a different name. Their time passed before they even started. Decentralised, and federated, is the way.
@jimstewartson the stubborn naiveté of people who should know better is astounding.
@jimstewartson By the time I got the email to sign up for Post, I was already here, and quite content. Deleted the email. Glad I did.
@jimstewartson same with all the platforms. and why eventually they need to be public utilities.
@jimstewartson and now we have an opportunity to try something different if people can just handle a little bit of growing pains and not jump to the next shiny thing.
@jimstewartson but but it's pretty and looks like twitter. And it's easy to sign in, something something.

@jimstewartson

It’s obvious that’s what will happen with the service at some point if it succeeds. A lot of people don’t care. Everyone is just looking for somewhere else to go right now.

He’s got a very strong pitch regarding creating a calm, safe, kinder space - people are responding to the promise of good content moderation combined, hopefully, with a lot of major news outlets. BTW, they don’t really have either of those things set up yet.

@jimstewartson This is why Post, Cohost and Hive are just temporary bandaids over the real problem. They could be bought by anyone and there goes the neighborhood and we all have to move around again.

People need to stop supporting these types of sites because all it's going to become - at best - is a loop. Take ownership of your social media and your data!
@jimstewartson He's probably looking to sell it to Twitter...
@jimstewartson A tech giant, or perhaps someone like Musk.
@jimstewartson Post isn’t going to take off imho

@jimstewartson
The #Migration offers a once in a lifetime opportunity to shift media distribution away from monopolistic social media platforms to distributed platforms like Mastodon.

Last week, when journalists crawled back to #DingDong like whipped puppies, that only strengthened the #DarkLord's grip on media profesionals.

@PoeticLicenseDK @jimstewartson Nope. Couldn’t disagree more. I try not to be judgmental.

@Kitchi @jimstewartson
Thank you for your response.

I view #DingDong as an existential threat in the same way I view TFG.

I'm probably in the minority, but my 2016 take on TFG was eventually proven right.

When Cassandra tried to warm King Priam about the Trojan Horse, everybody blew her off & laughed at her as if she was being crazy.

If your gut tells you it's okay, go with your gut. My gut tells me otherwise.

@PoeticLicenseDK @jimstewartson Yes I concur. It’s an individual choice and shouldn’t be judgmental.

@Kitchi @jimstewartson
It is an individual choice, on that we agree. I also agree that I should not hold it against someone if they make a different choice.

However, I ask you to consider this, are the repercussions individual if democracy is being slowly poisoned, if we are the slowly boiled frog?

MLK wrote about the need to pick a side in Letter from Birmingham Jail.

To be or not to be. Hamlet's question resonates today, because there is something rotten in social media.

@jimstewartson

a16z/Andreessen’s involvement was a red flag. Post’s CEO’s announcement that accessibility was not something they were currently concerned with was the redline.

I’ve had my account for a month or so now, but can’t see actively using another techbro, surveillance capitalism social media site ever again.

@jimstewartson this is so cringeworthy!
@jimstewartson As a non-American #Post is of no interest to me or almost 8 billion other people.
@jimstewartson Another man modeled after #HenryPotter/EbenezerScrooge thinking he does it all and the workers should be grateful for the crumbs.
@jimstewartson Instead of anyone over 30 I think we need to start teaching our children not to trust *anyone* hoarding over a billion dollars.
@jimstewartson I remember trolling Michael. He’s about as “Malice” as a half round of brie left in the sun on a hot day.
@jimstewartson Good job! Max Fisher (NYT) also gets it! "People really need to understand how mainstream it has become in some tech VC circles to argue that journalism itself is dangerous as an idea and should be abolished, and that it will be up to the tech world to carry this out." https://twitter.com/Max_Fisher/status/1603627864926068736

Twitter
@jimstewartson what in the fuck is a "white pill"? These Matrix allegories are getting more complicated by the day
@jimstewartson Exactly. "Let's all jump to the next tech bro's social media platform!"
@jimstewartson Agree. Literally the same investor in Post and twitter. Post will cut a deal with twitter and weld the two together so all the journalists are locked in with Musk’s alt-right twitter and will guarantee it’s success—the investor wants a win-win and doesn’t want to lose money on twitter.
