It is now "unsafe" to click on a Mastodon link on Twitter.
Even if that link is in your Twitter bio.
There is no good reason for this anti-competitive behaviour.

@davidallengreen it depends on your perspective?
From most of us there's no good reason, but if you're thin-skinned billionaire who is convinced the world is out to get him... π€·ββοΈ

With the current management the birdsite is creating legal troubles for itself on a conveyor belt. FTC consent degree, GDPR compliance setup are two big ones that the big bully ruined in his first weeks at the helm.
At in the EU new shiny laws come in force for platforms that rewire GDPR compliance as a basic premise, and which the EC will enforce, not the lame Irish DPA.

βNews about arbitrary suspension of journalists on Twitter is worrying. EUβs Digital Services Act requires respect of media freedom and fundamental rights. This is reinforced under our #MediaFreedomAct. @elonmusk should be aware of that. There are red lines. And sanctions, soon.β

Whatever. Think he's got massive insurance and is trying to break the company to have the money to pay back the people who invested in the take over (It wasn't just his dosh) and a little bit besides. This idea from Cory Doctorow's take on the recording industry.
Where there are interesting tweets which can be embedded in a toot rather than go to the both of finding the URL and tooting it, there's no prob though!
Though not too much of that I suppose.
This motorbike goes toot.
Calling @Chartodon LR ...
But there IS a good reason for it. He doesnβt want the competition.
Itβs funny in that most people on Mastodon consider clicking a link to Twitter to be unsafe.
