@taylorlorenz It’s time to leave $8chan, everybody. Even if Elon pivots, it’s only to buy himself time to design a less transparent way to manipulate the discourse on Twitter. You can’t successfully fight him there when he controls the platform—you can only leave and deny them credibility as well as the ability to monetize your attention.

@taylorlorenz I think Elon is overplaying his hand here. He thinks that by suspending the accounts of journalists who are critical of him, he can intimidate the ones who remain.

But Twitter is not unique. He's merely accelerating the exodus. Journalists don't need him as much as he needs them.

@taylorlorenz Columnist, not reporter. And nearly always questionable reports and columns if topic was Tesla. Doesn’t excuse a suspension by Twitter which is stupid and is already back-firing. But please. Her coverage of Tesla has been abysmal. The challenge for those who haven’t read her Tesla-related body of work over many years is to juggle the possibility of the work sucking simultaneously with a Twitter expulsion being legitimately uncalled-for. But that’s the sad reality.

Michael Johnston, 61, was found dead on the third floor of Tesla's Gigafactory in Nevada. Tesla said there is "no reason to believe that the incident was caused by anything related to this employee's work."
