Follow a bunch of people to fill your timeline (prune back later)

If you want people to follow you:
- interact (add hashtags to your toots to get interactions)
- add a profile picture
- add a pinned #introduction toot and hashtag the crap out of it with all your interests

Boost toots you like to spread them around the Fediverse

Add alt text to images

And above all...

@Rachael One of the most damaging things to Mastodon I've seen are introductory articles to Mastodon for beginners that explained how Mastodon works vs how to use it. Those articles and terminology like"servers" likely intimidated people away. How to use it is easy. Create an account, read toots, use the search bar to find more. Boom. Done.

I think the algorithm not favoring people or serving contentious subjects up on a plate might be a bit jarring at first though, for some people.
