@jasonschreier Hi Jason! Good to see you here, would recommend not using the default Mastodon app and switching to Tusky on Android or Mammoth/Metatext on iOS for the time being.

Edit for clarity: the default app on Android is great and has all the latest features (editing posts etc). But it can sometimes crash while searching, so if you get frustrated with that, Tusky is your best bet for stability even if it's a little behind (edit feature coming soon).

@jasonschreier welcome! It’s like the early days of Twitter. Mostly positive, fun experiences before the bots and trolls moved in.

They will come of course. But for now it is pleasant and positive as hell and that is so refreshing.

@jasonschreier I wanted to mention in case you weren't aware that it is easy to transfer to another mastodon instance if you do not trust/feel comfortable with the current instance and the way it is run.

I am fine with my and your current instance, but put even more trust in social.vivaldi.net since it is run by the a trustworthy company located in Iceland. If someething happens to Mastodon, that is where I will go next.
