UPDATE: Looks like the admin has posted for first time this year: https://mstdn.party/@[email protected]er/109813159614617478

⚠️ Warning to anyone on the mstdn.party or mstdn.plus servers, recommend you move to another server ASAP. Their only admin is apparently unreachable, and his accounts haven't posted anything since Dec 2022.

You can find a new server at https://joinmastodon.org/servers or https://fedi.garden (the servers listed there have at least two admins and promise to give 3 months warning of any shutdown).

Looking into an issue with mstdn.plus at the moment.

So, I've not been active on here, or really any social media for a while, as I said in a previous post, mostly I've just been busy on stuff I can't really show or talk about. Most of the art I did last year still under wraps as it has still to see print etc.
Anyway, here's an image (or at least part of one) that's out in the world, so I can show a bit of it.

I'll try and post some more throughout the week...hope everyone is doing ok.

Due to an injury that kept him out of lineup the last two games before the bye week, #SeaKraken forward Matty Beniers will not be able to attend the 2023 #NHLAllStar Weekend in Florida.

Fans can still catch @[email protected] at the weekend’s festivities → https://bit.ly/MattyASWUpdate

Surgeon General Vivek Murthy said on “CNN Newsroom” that he believes 13-year-olds are too young to join social media and that being on those platforms does a "disservice" to children.

Surgeon general: 13-year-olds too young to join social media platforms

"The skewed and often distorted environment of social media often does a disservice to many of those children."

My column about apps on Mastodon appears in print today. I'm told it did very well on the web after publishing on Friday. It got MANY boosts and Favorites here on Mastodon (thank you!), so I assume that's where a lot of traffic came from. It'll be very interesting to see what kind of print-reader feedback I get via email.

This is a gift link to the story, so it should get at least some of you past the paywall if you don't have a subscription. If not, use archive.ph.

As Twitter kills third-party apps, new life blooms on Mastodon

Developers who crafted now-defunct apps for Twitter can devote their attention to the network that’s become the primary bird site refuge.

@bish hello!!
Normalize playing on “easy” mode just for fun, not to add to the stress of life.
Hearing that the internal notice about Spotify's layoffs notes that laid-off employees will continue to get complimentary Spotify ... through the end of March :/
I’m old enough to remember when you could just go to a store or website and buy something and the thing you bought wouldn’t be back ordered. The store would just have it and you could take it with you when you bought it.
My recent experience suggests you can get any message through Gmail's spam filter by adding "Walmart Confirmation" to the subject line
