Am I hungry, or is it #keto stomach?

#KetogenicDiet

@ricardoharvin I'm just starting this journey.

@onlymeindc Good luck! It was very difficult for me the first two months, and my cravings for fruits, chips, cake, etc etc etc are through the roof, 11 weeks in.

My plan is to stick with it through the end of the year, and then take a break for a month and have a full physical to check my vitals before deciding whether or not to resume to see if my A1C can get back down to the normal range.

@ricardoharvin Good luck to you too! So far so good almost 4 weeks in. Cravings were insane at first but I realized I am a sugar and processed food addict. My attitude was I got myself clean from opioids thrown at me for chronic pain, I can conquer sugar addiction too. What are you using for sugar substitutes? I'm trying monk fruit after trying stevia. Still tinkering with them both to get my brain to accept them lol.

@onlymeindc For me, it's #Allulose. It's very expensive, and less sweet than cane sugar, but it doesn't have the terrible (to me) aftertaste that sugar substitutes have, and it cooks and bakes very much like cane sugar. I do cheat and blend it with a little turbinado sugar for my coffee because otherwise I miss the subtle rich, mellow taste of turbinado.

I haven't tried monk fruit because I've only seen it mixed with things like stevia, which has that aftertaste I don't like.

@ricardoharvin Thanks! I agree about that aftertaste issue. I'll try out yours.
@onlymeindc I knew I'd fail if I had to live with that.
