@stephenfry We did better than most of us expected, I think. Quite proud of the effort and, actually high, skill level that England showed, through much of the tournament. Gutted to lose, but we played well, and no shame to lose to the reigning champions.

@stephenfry yes. Can't help thinking that England go into every game that's against anyone better than say... Surinam... with the attitude of extreme negativity. All this ponderous passing around between centre-backs gets us nowhere, and we pay the price (eventually).

@stephenfry England haven’t won the World Cup since 1966 56 years ago glad I don’t watch the football now because it just seems a bit out of line because normally the World Cup would be in the summer but due to Qatar being in very hot in summer. They’ve had to move it to round now because it isn’t too hot there at the moment. But right now I’m snuggled up in bed.
