In today's news

1. filed DMCA forms for jerks pirating my ebooks on scribd

2. Spent 1 hour updating website links

3. fell down a rabbit hole looking for newsletter providers when mailchimp sent an email raising my prices (suggestions?)

4. Emailed zon about a formatting issue. Got reply "It looks great to me", which had me emailing the explanation again.

5. Realized it's now lunchtime and it feels like I got no real work done.

My 2023 project may be to switch. I have a lot of subscribers so it's not something I take lightly.

I've heard people recommend flodesk, mailerlite, emailoctopus? lol Probably all are cheaper. What services do you recommend/not recommend based on experience? Pros/cons?

Any suggestions appreciated

@dannikadark I switched to MailerLite a while back. Couple of reasons.

It has better pricing imo than MailChimp (where I was before)

Its interface is simpler. I don't need a bunch of bells and whistles, just something easy to use is okay with me.

Anyway, so far, so good.

@dannikadark I like Mailerlite. Use the classic version to start--the newer one is harder to migrate lots of subscribers too but should get easier and they told me they aren't going to get rid of the classic one. They're not too expensive and the interface is really intuitive. I tried MadMimi but they don't have all of the functionality OR the analytics ML has.
@yasminegalenorn I've heard people leaving mailerlite but I can't recall the issues they were having. All I want is the ability to see statistics/deliverability and maybe carve up my audience into groups for separate mailings.
@dannikadark @yasminegalenorn I'm also using MailerLite and so far, have no real complaints. It does all those things and is reasonably priced.
@Devonmonk I'll have to do price comparisons for my subscriber level The price hikes with mailchimp have been too frequent and too steep, which is so disappointing because they used to be an awesome service. Sent me a free t-shirt once and everything.
@dannikadark Yeah, I loved Mailchimp, but had the same complaint--and I never even got a T-shirt! :)
@Devonmonk One concern is moving everything over only to find out there's something big I'll be missing. I'm also not entirely certain about the best way to migrate everyone while making sure I follow all those gdpr rules as well as seeing how to get evidence of member signups. I'm guessing I could jus download mailchimps subscriber list with the data and that would be enough since loading emails onto a new service doesn't have recorded evidence.
@dannikadark I left at one point because they had a major malfunction but they corrected that. And after being with MadMimi for six months, I went NOPE and went back because ML has so much more functionality to it. I get good open rates with them and they integrate into a number of other programs.

@dannikadark

Re 3: I went to ConvertKit.

Spendy but I like their automations.

MailerLite gets good marks from some of my friends.
