The more I look into #ADHD after having disabling symptoms that halted my ability to tackle simple tasks, the more I think I have had it before even getting long covid. My fast processing, off-the-charts memory and problem solving skills potentially masked it. Any #MECFS or #longcovid people want to chime in on their experience with ADHD? #NEISvoid
@CynthiaAdinig I wonder about this as well, both personally and in what I've seen researching the intersection of Long Covid with cognition and learning. I think, at the least, as a society we need to be much more supportive of neurodiversity whether or not it's 'documented' disability or conditions.
@drjacannon I'm really rethinking my former understanding of neurodiversity. My hyper-focusing didn't hinder me, nor did my need to stimulate my brain all day every day. I absorbed things instantaneously which is a huge advantage. I've had a solid 3 careers because of it and I'm not even 40. But also, I never got more than 5 hours of sleep for 4 years straight. But because I had never-ending fulling and flexible work it never felt like insomnia or anything bad. It's confusing
