Having internet friends is like... I love you all very much but also if you change profile pic I would never know it's you.
@mayaisloading I was once on a forum where someone used the same profile pic as me. I had a small identity crisis every time I read one of their posts and thought I had forgotten I wrote it
@mayaisloading
I've been using the same 1 for everything except the dearly departed #boardello since 2007, almost feel like an institution now
@mayaisloading I spent a great deal of time choosing a new one here for precisely this reason. 😂

@mayaisloading
I have a folder full of AI-generated green foxes in different shapes sizes and emotions, just for that case I get sad mad or passionate about something and there is no "status".

My "original" avatar isn't even this one, but some stock images flat vector logo of a fox, hue-shifted to teal to mock that default android app color.

@mayaisloading at my age, thats kinda how it is in real life:)

Same. If I see someone IRL who's just a casual acquaintance I often don't remember their name. Even more so if they've changed their hair or outfit from what I remember.

I feel bad as they often seem to remember me but maybe that's just because I never colour my hair and I dress the same way most of the time.

@mayaisloading

…let me tell you how I didn’t recognize my mom when she picked me up from elementary school…she cut her hair short and dyed it red…she never forgave me.

@mayaisloading this is why I keep the hair blue.
