Is it too late for House Democrats to get ahold of the translator's notes from Helsinki--you know, from 2018 when the White House occupant betrayed America to side with Vladimir Putin?
@StevenBeschloss Could I get a side order of the unredacted Mueller Report and the internal communication of the Homeland Security and SS personnel around and before January 6th with that.
@StevenBeschloss
What do you mean, it’s too late?
@GrowingFamily @StevenBeschloss He's asking, not declaring. Though it's a little Tucker Carlson-esque to just ask questions...
@StevenBeschloss
That person on the left has the classic forward slouch and right leg swing when walking of someone who suffers from pronounced bone spurs.
@StevenBeschloss maybe they’re in the stash he took to Mar-a- Lardo or buried with Ivana in Bedminster.
@StevenBeschloss
Man, would I love to see those notes.
@StevenBeschloss That would be illuminating but Q would find a way to explain it away.
@StevenBeschloss if memory serves, he took her notes at the end on the meeting, but I always thought it would have been natural for her, knowing the gravity of what she'd witnessed, to immediately jot down extemporaneous notes from memory, just in case.
@StevenBeschloss how about the unredacted Mueller Report?!!!
@StevenBeschloss Gives a Renfield and Count Dracula vibe.
@StevenBeschloss And Putin blew it all on his nutso invasion of Ukraine. His country won't recover in our lifetimes.
@StevenBeschloss
I hope they have the means “, the courage, and the tenacity. Could they not at least interview her? Is it possible she made notes privately, after the fact?
@StevenBeschloss I thought The Malignant One ate the notes?
@StevenBeschloss Are we sure he didn't eat the notes?
@MarcusMuench @StevenBeschloss that's what I was thinking, that reports at the time at least implied that they were destroyed. Could have just been a PR line.
@StevenBeschloss Ya, I'm pretty sure Prince of Orange was glomming onto US top secret documents so that he could give it to Putin for Christmas. Orthodox Christmas.
@claralistensprechen @StevenBeschloss keep an eye on trump's flight schedule around Jan 7.
@StevenBeschloss I am glad you didn't forget that. Inquiring History wants to know what those private conversations between Putin and Trump were about.
@StevenBeschloss That whole thing has always bothered me. So blatant.
@StevenBeschloss unfortunately afaik translator notes are doodles and mnemonics, so not even shorthand. They would have to be out in the awkward position of testifying directly. Also unfortunately that.may not be the best idea.
@StevenBeschloss just look at trumps posture you can tell who’s the dominant one and who is the submissive one.
@StevenBeschloss looking at the 2 of them, Putin is smiling & happy; TFG hang dog look.
@StevenBeschloss Trump's body language spoke volumes. I've always wondered why we haven't seen them by now.
@StevenBeschloss … interesting image of 2 examples of dangerous primitives …
@StevenBeschloss The Helsinki Treason Summit was the final straw for me. I walked away from the GOP and became in Independent. What an utter disgrace.
@StevenBeschloss Good question, tho I was under the impression that no notes had been made?
@StevenBeschloss So I guess they weren’t in the Mar A Lago stash? If not need to search every TFG property and dig up one ex wife until found.
@StevenBeschloss let's go further back to trump using an unsecured iphone & the secret service & fbi told him it was hacked & they opened a counterintelligence investigation, is that still active? i stand by my initial assessment trump is a russian (whiting or unwittingly) asset
@StevenBeschloss I would like to see and read those notes as well. Smells like 1939 Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact between Hitler and Stalin

@StevenBeschloss I think Fiona Hill mentioned a team having debriefed the interpreter in her book There's Nothing for You Here. If that's right, someone has insight into that conversation, no?

Fun fact: interpreters I know who work globally don't take notes as linear strings of words. They use a series of marks or shorthand symbols they've developed for themselves, which are designed to be useful contemporaneously and not beyond.

@StevenBeschloss Fun fact: as is the case with stenography, translator notes can be readable by other people. See also cryptographers.
@StevenBeschloss …It clearly seems like they aren’t going to ask. They’ve had 3- years to get those and the Trump shakedown call to Zelenskyy.
@StevenBeschloss oh YES I would LOVE to know what happened to the notes.
A great play is waiting to be made from them… 💥😉
@StevenBeschloss I have been asking that very question since Dem's took over in 2020. I know they've been busy but dang that seems really important. Also I'm so happy I found you here on #Mastodon!!
@StevenBeschloss I’ve been wondering about this for at least a year. Is everyone asleep at the switch?
@StevenBeschloss Oh please, House Dems, please do get those notes before the GOPers take over!!

@StevenBeschloss

Someone, not in the trump arena, had to have interviewed the note taker… it would be malpractice not to…

Senators Feinstein and Grassley grim and silent after Trump-Russia briefings with Comey

After closed door meetings with FBI Director James Comey on Wednesday, top members of the Senate Judiciary Committee looked grim and rattled and refused to divulge the contents of the meeting to reporters. At around 5 p.m. E.T. on Wednesday, Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-IA) and Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-CA...
