Brown Hare.

For a few years, I would spend a week each spring over in North Norfolk, to immerse myself in the wildlife of the area.

Early mornings would be spent looking for hares and barn owls, and on this particular day, I found a group of hares near a small farm.

Using my car as a hide, I watched and waited, and was delighted when one of them scampered down a track towards me.

@petewalkden Your patience paid off! Love its eyes
@petewalkden Barn owls are so cute! I love how they look like scandalous desserts!
@petewalkden I was playing golf on vacation one day. It was getting close to sunset and all of a sudden jackrabbits were all over the course. It was so cool. I was in the state of Nevada (USA) where prostitution is legal (stick with me). As I drove from the golf course I passed a brothel called the bunny ranch. At that moment it all made sense.
@petewalkden of it weighs 800 lbs be afraid very very afraid 😳
@petewalkden one of those images you look at, look at again, linger over, smile at, savour. Thank you.
@petewalkden patience paid off. Looks like he's coming to greet you
@petewalkden Really a fantastic picture.
@petewalkden I’d love to see one! Great photo you can feel the movement.
@petewalkden Oh that's a lovely photo of a brown hare!
@petewalkden I used to have brown hair. Now I’m a gray hare

@petewalkden
He produced a wonderful drawing from my original photo of a grey fox
@petewalkden how big are these? Looks pretty wiry
@curbthetide Brown hares are considerably larger than rabbits, as adults. And they do look less soft than a bunny, for sure.
@petewalkden love hares :) They're feral here in Australia. Can't find the heart in me to wish them exterminated
@petewalkden I was on Tiree and on walking up a road I could see 7 huge hares on the road looking for all the world like blokes standing chatting 😊 none of them moved until I was about 2 metres away, and they didn’t run away, I’d say they loped slowly off the road into a field and I’m sure they were giving me funny looks 😳I was a tad wary of them, but I also heard Corncrakes calling while on that road which made up for the scary hares, g’night 😊
