My darling #NZTwits, a reminder that after the initial burst of energy as you explored Mastodon, you'll be drawn back to Twitter. You're addicted, I'm addicted, Twitter wants us to stay that way by making us endlessly upset.

Make a mindful effort to pop in here once a day at least to toot something, or boost something. You're actively building community now, and it matters for the future.

Twitter has somehow become the international commons forum, and I don't actually see that changing in the foreseeable. But you are part of a community that care about each other, and part of that is keeping this space alive.
@dznz the advocates, politicians and the journalist all actively use twitter. But with more activity and better tools #Mastodon could easily become a better platform.
@stateless before this latest influx we were using it as a kind of adjunct to the big community: a quieter, safer spot to deepen relationships. Even if the UX weren’t to get massively better (mobile is a particular sore spot) I can confirm it’s good for this.
@dznz @stateless I joined here in May, and that’s exactly what I’ve been doing. Using this as a place to rest, a safer place to explore.
