@Rairii @taylorlorenz @esqueer I don’t mind that they moderate their own app stores. I think that’s reasonable; the problem is on iOS, where side loading isn’t a thing and it’s App Store or bust for 99% of the user base.

@rant @brianhough @Rairii @taylorlorenz @esqueer if you have apple that authority, they would just ban twitter and reddit for allowing NSFW content. putting apple at the head of conent moderation is bad. also apple isnt exactly non consertive eaither, it blocked queer content when using parental controls at one point

@rant @brianhough @Rairii @taylorlorenz @esqueer in reality without sideloading giving apple keys to content moderation would just result in porn being banned. Really should consult with sex workers like ashley lake who is all too familiar with apples anti porn polices.

The comprimise was made where nsfw could be enabled but with toggle on the desktop app, the the toggle couldn’t be referenced in the app. So when your encounter it it says “NSFW content is blocked on iOS” with zero context. But you can enabled by clicking the enable nsfw content on iOS toggle on the desktop app
