Mercedes announces new in-car subscription to upgrade it to an Audi.

@SwiftOnSecurity

Perhaps BMW can issue a lower cost feature to activate the indicators on their cars? The current option seems too expensive for most owners 😕🤷‍♂️

@simonzerafa
It's the damn indicator fluid leaking. Factory issue, I suppose ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

@SwiftOnSecurity

@SwiftOnSecurity Can we kill the subscription to features on cars? Not everything needs to generate MRR, for god's sake, Light it on fire.

@bbennettesq @SwiftOnSecurity

isn’t New Jersey doing something about it?

@bbennettesq @SwiftOnSecurity I agree in general...but I was just looking at an EV and they are maintaining the battery via subscription, and I kind of understand it. Biggest issue with EVs is batteries lose capacity, and the manufacturer needs an incentive to keep it at the expected level. Currently on a warranty that the mfg wants to put off as long as possible which limits me.
@SwiftOnSecurity Audi has been surveying owners to see which features they'd be willing to pay a subscription for. I'm sure they're paying close attention to what BMW is doing.
@SwiftOnSecurity Great! Maybe BMW can do something similar to let owners upgrade to have turn signals.
@SwiftOnSecurity it’s going to suck when you have to buy a used car and purchase a bunch of features all over again. It will also suck when you go to sell it and the value is lowered because nothing you bought transferred.
